When you are adding your handles, insert a 3 inch loop of ribbon in the centre of one side as well. It makes it easier to hang them at the checkout that way.😉

Where would you hang it? We have different foldable bags, we put on inside another and put them on the belt infront of our foods, the checker checks the bags incase we stuffed something in.

@@SparkyOne549 our checkouts in Australia have little hooks they used to hang the plastic bags from as they packed them. The hooks are also at the self service checkouts. It keeps the bags upright and open

It's funny Sharon, when I first started making the supermarket bags, I always added the loop, and then the stores changed their layout. Now they have the old layout again and the loops are useful once again.😁

Great video - exactly what I was looking for. During a recent trip to a local discount store we discovered that they are now charging 15 cents for a plastic bag. Making several of these bags we could save money and save the planet.

Thanks so much for the bag tutorial. We live in Wisconsin US and taking our first road trip since Covid. Took a lesson from you and cut out 2 bags. My husband loves bags. We go to antique and resale shops on our trips. A bag in our pockets will be a good addition for us. I finished them both in a couple of hours. Thanks again!

🪡🪡🪡🪡🛍🛍🛍🛍🙂🙂🙂🙂💓💓💓💓 thank you I will be making some of these what would be a suggested price of these to sell , I hate having all these different store bags to mush of a mess. and not consistent a real pain to deal with thank you
@ChristinesHomeAffairs
@ChristinesHomeAffairs Жыл бұрын
Thank you Joy. Pricing will depend mostly on how much you pay for your fabric. I don't plan on selling these ones just yet (I haven't even sold any strawberry bags), but because they only take about 15 min to make, I'd sell them at about $10 based on my labour only. If I had to purchase the fabric, I'd need to recover the price I paid, and then some so I'd make them $15 (I still buy fabric wholesale). Not sure how it compares to your exchange rate though, and your fabric is less espensive than here too. We have several community groups called Boomerang Bags in Australia, and they make so many of these very lightweight bags for free, that I don't think I'd be able to sell many at all 😁

Thank you Christine. Will you be making these for the shop? I saw sometime made a comment for a soap bag tutorial, that sounds like a really good idea. My daughter uses shampoo bars but sometimes has difficulty getting them to foam up. I'm thinking this might be solved with the right kind of fabric. Whatever you sew, I'll be watching because I love your tutorials. Have a lovely weekend, Diane 😘

Hi Christine, I have watched all your videos and I was influenced by your reviews on the ProSew industrial so much that I bought one and am loving it. However, I saw you sew this fine,silky fabric with the ProSew and wondered how. Mine would chew this love,y material. I mainly bought it for vinyl and leather bag making and love it for that, but it gives me problems with linings. I feel it could be due to tension, but I’m unsure as to how to correct it. Can you give me any advice. Also I’m a little isolated from retailers of these machines as I live in southern Tasmania, so I can’t just “pop in” to ask.

Sorry for the delay in responding Gaye. Is it the same model as mine? Have you tried adjusting the foot pressure? If you call Adam at ProSew in Port Macquarie, he will be able to advise you. He's very helpful. There's also the Jack Sewing machine Facebook page that will help too. It's run by ProSew dealers🙂

@@ChristinesHomeAffairs I totally understand the delay Christine after noting your health issues post only long after I posted. I did take your advice and rang Adam. He was so helpful. Yes mine has a walking foot and doesn’t perform as kindly as yours on fine fabrics, but he also suggested a smaller needle size. I was a little hesitant to ring him for such a minor problem, but he was just so kind and helpful. Hope you feel better soon, I just love your videos.
