DIY EBike Build and Test Run with Voilamart 48v 1000w Electric Bicycle Conversion Kit. First Ride!!!

The first ride on my DIY Voilamart Conversion kit. The battery I built is 60 volt nominal 16s5p li ion made from 4 BB-2590 military surplus batteries. This video is a preview of a DIY Electric Bicycle series I'm going to be posting. Those videos will be very detailed and be much longer then this preview. This kit maxed out on speed in street legal mode reaching 28 MPH with me a 315 lb person on top of it.

Great inaugural run indeed. To be doing 30mph on a 26 inch wheeled mtb is righteous in my opinion.

This kit has a off road mode, might go faster. This is my first EBike but I knew I needed one after riding my uncles RadRunner Plus. I also wanted to build one that is faster then his. LOL

I've had one for 5yrs now the controller overheats and I replaced it 3 time. I bought a 1000 watt 20hr batty that cost me more than the conversion kit but it was well worth it. Overall I would but the conversion kit before I spend thousands for a preassembled Ebike.

I was thinking about doing some controller mods, like laying down more solder on the board for conductivity and adding a heat sink to the controller case to help it dissipate more heat. Thanks for the heats up on this. I haven’t had my as long as yours but I can expect to have a similar experience to yours in the not too distant future.
