Awesome build, with spare parts laying around! Those people commenting on adding a differential, it doesn't! These motors, if you looked closely, have a reduction gearbox attached to them, as they are industrial motors. He probably had a torque splitter between the two motors in the controller unit, so, turning won't be a problem.

The independent motors would not run in synch, correct? So the most powerful would actually be doing the work. Also, what keeps the axle from slipping in the coupling cogs?

Looking at this conversion, I am so excited to see how I can use this idea to convert a gasoline Car, throwing out the gearbox & all junk drive train, attaching one big power motor at back wheels to drive both back wheels at same time. Still can make use of 4-cylinder Engine to drive a much bigger alternator like 20KW power output to keep charging a small Battery Bank say 30KWH when drained down to say 20%. So Engine auto kicks in to recharge battery to the full then goes off mode. I have to find Air conditioner which runs on battery or i could use the same Mechanical AC attached to a smaller Electric Motor and drawing power from the same 30KW battery. Now you would think why would I waste gasoline to drive that chunky 2.4L Engine to charge the battery and still pollute environment BUT I have great idea to attach HHO or HH3O to the gasoline engine as the speed would be constant so the fuel efficiency will go 30-50% above the rated and absolutely ZERO pollution out of tail pipe. I don’t even need any O2 sensor management as the computer & expensive fuel management system will all be GONE. Man you have given me GREAT idea. Thank You.

I gave a thumb up but feel maybe a bearing with sprocket should be mounted where the motors are and the motors mounted higher up for clearance of ground and to better avoid water, mud, etc. Connected by a chain Yes more drag but I think pros would outweigh the cons. No disrespect intended , I live in a very wet area and those motors risk being drowned or ripped off that low , Great efforts thank you .

tip. do not EVER use a grinder like that to cut a wire hanging something. Somehow it catches the wire, winds it around the spindle and sucks the disk into your work destroying it and beating the fingers about 20 times before it's all over in a split second. It happened to me twice in 5 minutes and sent me home crying off the job. The second time it made my finger bleed through my gloves ! never use that tool to cut taught wire. I do not know the physics of what happened... seemingly impossible but it happens so fast it would take a very high speed camera to actually see it happening.
