DIY Electric Skateboard Build | Hoverboard Edition | 1200 Watt Single Motor | Episode 3

This video is the 3rd video of a 5 part series on building an electric skateboard. In this episode Im assembling the board. This is a single motor build using one 5065, 1200 watt motor. I will make sure to have all the parts I used in this build listed below.
I didn’t spend too much time talking about the parts because I will get into that in the last episode. Stay tuned for the VESC programming coming up next episode!
I have a longboard dual motor electric skateboard already and I wanted to see how a single motor build would compare and what it was capable of.

Always bothers me that all the kick tail boads on the market have the battery weight in the front of the board making the kick turn movement awkward , lol you took it to another level with the motor weight up front. O well great build love these series 👍

Thanks for the comment! Most of it was out of necessity. If I did rear wheel on this and had the motor out the back the kick tail is useless cause it will scrape the motor when I use the tail. Being a compact board I couldn’t run the motor on the inside because it hit the enclosure. Front wheel with a kick tail isn’t the best design. I’ll get more into it on the performance episode of this series.....but it for sure takes some getting used to. Thank you again for watching and commenting. Appreciate you!! 🙌🏼

Hey! I’m doing a full breakdown of the board as a final episode so that will be posted soon but here’s some info for now. Deck is 10”x30”, single 5065 motor, 6s3p battery, with single vesc 4.12. 90mm wheels with 36/16 gear ratio. Thanks for watching!
