This has me thinking about a 3 wheel design, the hub motor more towards the back for wheelie action

Great build! Very unique idea 💡

I think this is genius because it has lot of torque like belt drive but is easier and cheaper to build thanks for inspiring me I’m going to build something similar but instead of using a 700w motor I’m using a 1600w on with maybe 52v or 48v I just need to figure out what esc I should I use if you have any suggestions please let me know thanks again
@Lowegy4 жыл бұрын
The motor has plenty of power and torque. Pair this with a good powerful esc and you’ll have all the torque you need. I used a cheaper esc to save on cost and it still puts out plenty of power. I will try to add the components list in the description

How did yours turn put @jonathan?

@@redsteam1 mine uses a vesc 75100 with a 48v battery running at 45a I get speeds up to 30-35mph on it it’s kinda scary 😅

Have you added a suspension system later to keep all five wheels contact with the ground on the bumby roads?
@Lowegy3 жыл бұрын
Have no issues with all 5 wheels making contact. I adjust this using the truck spacers. I like your idea of making a suspension for the center wheel using high compressing springs on the aluminum mount brackets.

Brakes??

Same brakes you would use on a stock skateboard............... lol

how did you manage to turn left and right with that fixed hub motor in the middle? If you turn right on the longboard, the trucks move so that you are allowed to turn, but with a fixed wheel that cant rotate, how is it possible? Perhaps the tire gets more weared out because of this
@Lowegy4 жыл бұрын
All four skateboard wheels makes contact with the ground however it pivots on the one wheel. There’s no problem Turning left or right. I rides and turns like a normal skateboard.

@@Lowegy okey, thank you very much for the reply, I was going to try something similar to this build, but with the wheel fixed at the back. When I thought of it, it occurred to me that it couldn't turn because of it.
@anthonybaker70913 жыл бұрын
What about adding 2 wheels in the middle side by side?
@fbiagent33993 жыл бұрын
At that point just build A proper electric skateboard.. Mount the hub motors to some decently wide truck's at the rear.. Then do A top mounted esc and battery pack.. You can also buy 8inch wheels for the front from ali express for like 20/30$

Hi, sorry this is so late, but do you still to this day feel this board holds up on stability and fun?

Yes, the board is holding up nicely and fun to ride.

what's your weight? the skateboard may have been broken if we cut it off?

I’m 165 lbs. I had someone over 180lbs ride it with no problem
@jonathanbrunache38484 жыл бұрын
Oh and also the battery you have is 72v because you have to 36v in series shouldn’t you get a higher top speed?
@Lowegy4 жыл бұрын
The packs are connected in parallel so they are running at 36v
