Thank you, this looks like such a easy technique! But whenever I finish and rip off the stabilizer my stitched word gets all messed up. I pressed down on it too! What am I doing wrong 😩

Either your stitches aren't tight enough when you sew, try doing smaller stitches and making sure they overlap slightly. x

Hi! Is there anything else I do besides make a knot on the back after I’m done? I’m scared it will come undone when I wash?

No I just did a tight knot. I've washed mine hundreds of times. If you're worried, you could iron on some fusible interfacing to the back? x

Could you do this with a water soluble stabilizer as well rather than the tear?

what size needle should i buy for this? is it helpful/worth it to purchase a small embroidery hoop for this?

I think I used a size 5 embroidery needle. You can use a hoop if you'd rather. It's just a personal preference, but don't stretch the fabric too tightly in the hoop. x

Would you apply this technique if you want to sew a single letter inside of a hoodies sleeve?

Yes exactly. The only tricky thing is gaining access to the inside really. But you can use this technique anywhere x

Entirely up to you. If you're struggling with holding it, you might find a hoop useful. x

Is there any reason you started stitching the word from the “r” instead of the beginning with the “c”? Also, should I use a piece of stabilizer on the back of my fabric? Awesome video, thanks for sharing!

Yes to stabiliser if it's a thin garment. And no reason for starting with the 'r' was probably easier to film at that angle haha. x

Can you use thicker thread and what do you do if your words are separate?

Yes you can and you just tie it off at the end of each word.

Could I use tracing paper instead of trace and tear?

isobelle robinson you could, the tracing paper should be a good quality so it won't tear too easily as you stitch. Also just be aware it might blunt your needle. 😊

Hi, you just need some embroidery needles, Stitch'n'Tear and some embroidery thread. Any online haberdashery will do it, depends where in the world you are? x

How do I make the thread not dye the hoodie when I wash it?

So if you're using a super dark thread on light fabric, you can give the thread a quick warm, soapy bath before you use it. But most quality embroidery threads shouldn't be a problem. X
