I watched your countertop DIY video and i noticed you did a coat of polyurethane. I have used polyurethane over light colored furniture and they have all yellowed. I have done epoxy before and have not had issues with yellowing. I'm guessing the yellowing is probably from the poly. Your counters are gorgeous! Thank you for this review!

For anyone doing this. Continually rolling the back splash will not help. Epoxy is not meant to be put on vertically. It will not look right. Spend the time to take them off, epoxy them horizontally and put them on later.

Probably the top coat used not taking well to heat or sun exposure, but can’t be 100% certain

My takeaway from this is not to choose white or another light color. I imagine you wouldn't notice yellowing at all if you have a wood color scheme.

We had ours done professionally 1 1/2 years ago and ours is yellowing badly 😳 I’m so disappointed ☹️ because I asked them numerous times if that would happen and they basically said no 🙄

Tha stain is from the constant heat from the dishwasher. The vent for the dishwasher is probably right below that stain.

Hi I redid my counter tops years ago with a different product and it left my counter tops with a smooth but bumpy surface. Will this level out on top of the surface

I honestly do not know. I’m not a professional. I’d imagine you’d have to sand it and even it out some. We had to fill any gaps and cracks in our countertops first

I ended up here because of too many Sales videos. You don't know you watched a sales video until you actually try to do it! 🙂 I'm going to have to tent mine as I wont be able to maintain temperatures with the heat off... and the kitchen is open. I bought a house with a total fail epoxy job(done on alcohol?) I finally decided to try and fix it with more epoxy. IMHO, epoxy is a step up from laminate but still ...plastic.

Yes you can. Prep will be very different than prepping Formica, but it is doable!
