Wider strips will make a larger rope. I use three strand and have used it as ribbon on a brown craft paper gift. Much loved by the recipients🇨🇦

I'm sure the gift ribbon you created would be loved! Sounds beautiful to make it thicker and use with kraft paper.

I love this! I am making drawstring backpacks for my local Christmas charity, so this looks like a way to use my scrap pieces. Thank you so much for this tutorial.

I remember as a child using the spun fabric to embroider things! or at least try! I guess my mom used to spin it ahead and give it to me to do. I must admit I was mesmerized by your spinning process, so much so I forgot to drink my coffee!!! I have a lot of vintage (fabric from mom's stores in the 60's) that I could use for this!! Perfect timing for a new fun project as I have had my share of crocheting, knitting journaling and scrapbooking!! Thanks so much!!

I've made some twine but never knew what to do with it. Now that I have found slow stitching, I can find places in my work to use it. Thanks for reminding me of the technique, I had forgotten how to join the pieces. I like the 4th one you showed.
@DanielaMellen

Thanks. The 4th method is definitely a favorite for joining pieces! Glad you found a way to use your handmade twine.

Thank you for showing how to make this twine. I have tried it before and it came undone. With your video and help I have made a piece.

You could totally make some type of "macramé" wall hanging with this twine. It would be beautiful in a little girls room
@DanielaMellen

That is a great idea! You could select the specific colors that go into the macrame.

Awesome video. I haven't tried yet. Will it not unwind once you have finished and put a knot. Will it loosen up? Thanks for sharing this technique.
@DanielaMellen
@DanielaMellen Жыл бұрын
It will unwind if you cut it. You cand stitch the end (before cutting) to hold it in place, so it won't unravel. Or, better yet, make it to length.

Can you use different fabric types ie demin , cotton, and silk together?
@DanielaMellen
@DanielaMellen 8 ай бұрын
You can, but depending on the thickness of each, the results will be affected. So, combining them will result in a very beautiful (in my opinion) but, perhaps thicker or unveven twine. This may not be an issue at all for some, it simply depends on preferences.

Love the video but it keeps unraveling when I get to the end before tying it off. The first one I made worked, now they don't stay secure. What am I doing wrong?
@DanielaMellen
@DanielaMellen 8 ай бұрын
Could be that you need to keep the tension on the twisting and then knot it. Hope this helps.

I am planning on cutting this into pieces would it be as secure still after cutting?
@DanielaMellen
@DanielaMellen Жыл бұрын
Each cut part will have to be wrapped with tape or string to "seal the ends". It will unravel without some sort of way to secure it together.

I like to make custom trim for using on fabric pages. The challenge is making the correct length or knotting off a longer piece.
