Excellent. Thank you. The only thing I would do/have done differently is to use relatively thin bubble wrap to create a little additional distance between the electronic item and the sides plus I use a gold foil for the innermost and a copper foil for the outer and wrap everything with aluminum foil. The gold and copper foils are not expensive but make sure they are real or genuine. A metal garbage can, safe or ammo box are good as well but put a little Electrically Conductive Epoxy or Silver Adhesive where the lids/doors make a seal.

@@barrydayton9988 Do internet searches for "metal tape" and "conductive paste for electronics". They help keep the contact areas connected smoothly so an EMP doesn't sneak through jump and spark.

Yep, good idea. Only, I would add some kind of padding at the edges as to make them less sharp. This way we decrease the chances of cut or gaps opening on the aluminium foil, through which signals could find their way in or out.

Always make sure that if you are going to store an electronic device in one of these bags that the device is turned off and if you can take the battery out. Leaving the device on could fry that device. And for Extra Protection, wrap it in a rag before putting it in the bag.

If you do don't cover it with duct tape. Reflective shiny surfaces are more effective in blocking higher frequency 4 and 5g signals, which are best to deflect than to absorb and disperse. The shinier the better.

All these people talking about BuT iF tHe EmP KnOcKs OuT Ma SeRvIcE. The things you can still do without service is astounding. Offline maps, documents, manuals and other materials you can save and reference, taking pictures and videos, calculations, etc etc. Your cellphone can do alot more than just scroll facebook or watch videos on youtube yall 😂 It astounds me that everyone literally carries a computer in there pocket and only uses it to watch videos on tiktok.

@ZOENation74 your entirely missing the point here. Your cellphone isint just for communication purposes. Having materials to reference is important for you or whoever your with. Again it's literally a computer that fits in your pocket. There are a plethora of apps besides the mainstream ones and games that could actually help you in a multitude of different scenarios. Get creative. Yeah not having internet is going to hamper capabilities and I know people who grew up with smartphones don't know any better. But think outside the box.

It astounds me how many businesses, apparatus, and services mobile phones/big tech have made redundant, & bankrupt. More astounding or disturbing is how ppl fall apart without their black mirrors due to a lack of life skills, natural learning, laziness, convenience, and the invisible prison & enslavement bought to mankind via technological consumerism. Bread and circuses on steroids and then some.

@kevinkoekje
@kevinkoekje 8 ай бұрын
No, a Mylar bag will not serve as a Faraday bag against an EMP. A Faraday cage / bag is typically composed of a conductive material such as aluminum or copper, and Mylar is not a good enough conductive material. Try it out and youll learn.

What keeps the signal that the phone service is sending through tower relays from be affected by the EMP ? I mean, wouldn't the service providers be shut down , rendering all service inoperable ?? Would this same issue disable internet signals on laptop computers as well ? Thank you for your generous consideration, Sincerely .............. God bless.

What if you just use one bag, would it receive a signal?
@kevinkoekje
@kevinkoekje Жыл бұрын
If you use just one bag, it should effectively block signals, but the level of protection might not be as high as using two bags. The dual-layer design is intended to provide an extra layer of security by minimizing the chances of signal leakage. However, using one bag should still provide a significant level of protection against unwanted signals. The more barriers, the better; thicker is also preferable.

That's why I store my handheld radios in Faraday bags. My phones are like mini computers; I have stored a library on an SD card, so I can read it on one of the phones, or we can use it as a small entertainment system for watching movies. And yes, we also have printed versions of the library. It's much easier to carry a small device that has the entire Wikipedia than having over a hundred books to carry.

@kevinkoekje
@kevinkoekje 2 ай бұрын
@@davidwallace203If you actually followed the video, you'd know you need a fully enclosed, non-conductive layer covering the conductive material-with no gaps. Just loosely wrapping it is like trying to color inside the lines... and failing. Did you wrap it three times with non-conductive material in between each layer? If not, three layers of aluminum foil still only count as one thick, unprotected layer. So much for 'layers of protection,'.
