Oh My!!! Cami, it looks beautiful!!!! Your Beloved did an Awesome job!!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼My Beloved has had his eye on a pocket-hole jig ever since he saw one. So I went out & purchased one for him. I can’t wait to see his face on Christmas morning. ☺️

it turned out absolutely beautiful. I see people cover the wood with hardy backer boards or drywall first before plastering. is that not necessary?

Stunning mantel and surround! So beautiful in every way. Your husbands skills are truly amazing! Thanks Kevin for sharing the work you did. Praise God for his talent. Most beautiful European fireplace ever seen! You are right the curves are glorious. Have a blessed Thanksgiving. 🧡👏🏆

What didn't wrap it in durrock since you shouldn't have wood right next to fireplace?

WOW! You Guys, together, nailed it! I saw this European look "cast stone" just today and loved it but no way can I afford the 2+ grand!!! Single Female here, I really want to attempt this by myself. I'm limited on tools at the moment, how can I hide the screw holes without this Krugs (?) tool please? THANK YOU BOTH FOR SHARING!!! PLEASE CONTINUE YOUR HOME PROJECTS!!!!!! Trish, Granite Falls, NC

Absolutely stunning piece. And I don't think "settle" is the right word. It looks as though it's been there for decades and that it came with the house. And that whole room looks fab too.

Wow I am impressed! Even here in Europe they cost a fortune €€€. Years ago I was gifted a marble French fireplace surround by my uncle who lived in France. It still sits in the shed because I don’t know how to attach it🤣

Wow! what is next? it turned out beautiful. I love the curves on it. You would not know it wasn't a real stone. The thing is you 2 can figure out anything. My Dad was a carpenter and I would go to him with a drawing and ask him to make it. I miss him so much. You did a great job. Happy Thanksgiving! Joyce

Thank you Joyce! Next, it's time to decorate it for Christmas! Haha! How lucky of you to have had a dad to help you with that too. My dad is gone too, and he owned a construction company. I wish he were here to help with our landscaping! I miss him too. I wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving as well.

Is it a problem if the wood is so close to the opening? I thought there needed to be a 6 inch space between opening and the wood mantel.

@TIDBITSandCompany3 жыл бұрын
Oh, sorry Shelby. I didn't mention that in this video. If you want to go back and watch my Frame TV video, I show more of that but it is a travertine tile from Floor and Decor. It's super pretty.

Gorgeous! Can I ask where you got the beautiful piece of artwork above the fireplace? Ok edit because I just saw it’s a tv… the first piece was a picture of crocks and pottery….I am in love with that piece!!

Is that firebrick or tile in the firebox? Can you actually have a fire in there?
@MaryHart-y3g9 ай бұрын
what is the herringbone brick on the inside of your fireplace?
@joshuamills2868 Жыл бұрын
Combustible materials are to be 12" away from the firebox on the sides and 16" on top.
@nanimoniz2 жыл бұрын
You seem to like the shape but not the texture. You should look into plaster with a high sheen. It gives the stone look you want with the right texture and sheen of rock since it is actually ground up rock. Also smoother. Also cheap and long lasting. The shape and color is absolutely gorgeous and it really reminds me of Spanish style fireplaces.

A step by step video would have been so much more helpful than having viewers watch you talk and flirt. It's a great project but honestly I will now go look for a step by step video that will actually help me. This is a conversation more than a DIY. FYI 😉
