Really like the style with motets. The mitered and snipped ends are my favorite part. It makes all the 45s bring it together for a modern design. Without the ends having a 45 the miters would be classic.

Nice shelving, i really liked the design and the LEDs really highlight the items on display. I noticed when you were planing the boards to thickness, the table tilted downwards as the material engaged the outfeed roller. Have you fixed the problem? And if you have, what was the problem? It was around the 1:03 mark in the video. Cheers.
@Simplecove6 жыл бұрын
I probably forgot to lock the table in place before running the boards through but I've never noticed that before. It's not caused any issues that I'm aware of but I'm definitely going to look into it. Thanks!

How do you like your Hitachi miter saw? How much space from the wall do you need with dust extraction? I'm looking for a new one to replace my radial arm saw but my space is limited in my small shop. Thanks

Very cool design and excellent execution. Wonder how it would work to put he led lights slightly deeper and then fill the channel with resin so it’s flush. Love your channel!
@Simplecove6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching Brian! I love the resin idea because the way it sits now, something could fall in the groove which isn't the best idea.

Very nice, Shawn. I noticed that you use a wide tape for the glue squeeze out. Do you find that this works better for than the narrower tape?
@Simplecove6 жыл бұрын
I used the wider tape because it's what I have on hand at the moment. Narrower tape would work just as well.

I'd add a frosted cover to those LEDs to give the shelf a more sleek and professional look.
@Simplecove5 жыл бұрын
What kind of frosted cover would you use?
@AJ-ds5gf5 жыл бұрын
@@Simplecove I'd consider two options given that it'll be a retrofit for you. (1) an aluminium LED channel/profile with a frosted cover that can be fit into the LED chase you've made, which you may need to reroute bigger to accommodate it. (2) buy a frosted acrylic sheet, cut it to fit over the LED chase and also recessed flush with the wood. If you can't get frosted acrylic, get clear and spray it with a 'frosted glass' spray can.

You could even take the battery box and hide it underneath or make a router cutout underneath

nice shelf! it's intersting to see how same spieces of woods are different across the world.. in Italy our cherry is more reddish than yours..
@Simplecove6 жыл бұрын
Yeah that is very interesting. Give American cherry a few years and it will darken quite a bit.
