This channel has one thing that most channels overlook in bush situations. The ability to sew can be helpful in unlimited situations. Looking forward to more videos from you guys. Also just a suggestion. Maybe a how to make a leather sheath video. Good job guys keep at it!

Thanks for the video and ideas for a pre-made kit...I like that it's flat and leather not metal tin...the best kit in the world is the one you have with you when you need it..

I carry dental floss in my sewing king as waterproof thread and many are very strong along with 10864 natural waxed nylon cording for heavy duty repair. A small piece or flat square of fatwood can double as a thimble for use with the heavy duty needle. Lastly one of those wire tools to help thread a needle can be a God sent when your tired or hurt.

Great video. Just today I had to repair a small tear on my pack and became aware of the need to have a repair kit of some sort with me. Thanks for the upload

Your kit is more stylish than my pill bottle sewing kit. Very nice indeed.

Great looking little kit. Best thing about big needles is that they are good with numb/cold fingers. I was out camping last night and had a little hole in my swag mosquito net. Had a go at sewing it up, but my dexterity was shot from the cold wind. Took me ages to get the needle threaded. A bigger needle would have made for a rougher patch up, but a much quicker! I'd also echo having some glue along, although thats probably in your first aid kit - thats where mine is! Great work as usual.

CedricAda Gear Reviews BlackOwlOutdoors Add a needle threader to your kit. These old eyes/fingers can't thread a traditional sewing needle without one. They are often included with inexpensive sewing kits sold at discount places. Will help overcome a numb/cold fingers situation, too. Practice with it a bit to build some muscle memory & to learn what size cordage will work with the needles you have in your kit. FWIW, I like a variety of sizes/styles of needles in a kit. Including a curved upholstery needle. That curved needle will do what straight needles just can't accomplish. Most sewing places sell a pack of needles that includes a good variety, including curved & larger sizes. Easy to stash in all but the most tiny repair kits. Hope these thoughts help.

This is a must have in the bag. Many times footwear will break, clothing tears, gear bags rip, and tarps pop holes, and is awesome when someone elses gear needs some TLC. cheers. ;-)) Some other ideas for kit items are.. 1. dental floss/upholstery thread/artificial sinew makes great strong thread. 2. learn to make your own stick buttons/fastening pegs 3. An Awl is great in the kit. 4. cutting blade and thread ripper is light weight. 5. magnifying glasses or glasses ($1 at dollar store) Great vid. thanks for posting

Leather scrap makes a great thimble, too. Nice kit. Similar to the hussif (housewife) that I made. Add another button and you can spool some extra thread between them.

great video! I would add something to sharpen the needles, possibly a knife sharpener would do or a nail filer.

Love the message at the end about carrying what works for your specific needs. With that, I'm curious about your thought on including a button. I also feel that paracord is a good thing to include, but I don't think it does much more than the items you mentioned. Good info and a great video as always guys. Thanks! :) - Chris

inspireAson I'm not certain on the button. I feel like it could be useful? Don't know. Maybe I just like buttons, and want to carry an extra around. You're right though, paracord has lots of uses. And I always carry some. If I travel where there's yucca, I'd love to sew something using that. -Krik

I would add a credit card sized Multi tool (for example from victorinox(because scizors)) and a small tube of glue to the kit, but anyway, i think everybody will have his/her own preferences

No comparison from the ones I got from eBay verses the Walmart ones. I did go by walmart again and found some that are made in the CZECH republic, may be better.
