DIY Hanging Shelf for My Plants | $35 Easy Do-It-Yourself

Hey! It's begun: my plant obsession. We built this easy shelf to hang from our ceiling, and it ended up looking great! My plants get plenty of sunlight from the window, and it makes our kitchen look cheerful.
Materials:
1- 72"x8"x1" pine board
25 feet- 5/16" rope
2- toggle bolts
2- eye hooks
Stain
Tools:
Miter saw
Drill + drill bits
Sandpaper
Painter's tape
foam brushes

I made one on my own with rope from dollar tree and a stud finder. Find the studs and drill you'll find it'll hold alot of weight

dare to let kids enter your bedroom?😂 My suggestion would be gluing metal or ceramic no-hole pots with the wood, and then put the potted plant inside that pot.

They sell stuff like this on Amazon and everyone had fairly good reviews, I’m sure if they’re not super heavy plants they should be fine if it’s secured

That is a terrible idea hanging the shelves from the ceiling unless you can find a joist to screw into (they are never spaced where you need them :). Suspending the shelf from sheet rock will fail over time (IMO) depending on weight of course. Maybe consider screwing some type of support brackets (maybe an "L" bracket) off the header that is directly over the window (look it up).

That's what I said to myself...like no, you just need to use strength to hold the bit steady. If you have a drill press (which does the entire strength labor and steadying for you) you don't have to gradually change bits, it's just select the size you need and push through.
