RVs are not forgiving when it comes to leaks. Get some Dicor tape sealant to put between the trim and siding, then seal the trim down. That Dicor tape is a life saver.

Ok, now it is time to clean up around the front yard. Pickup all of the trash, the broken concrete blocks, left over blocks, excess dirt, chunks of wood, concrete demolition, concrete wood forms, old plastic containers, throw away the old boots and shoes. You have done all of this beautiful work. You want your neighbors to come around the corner and go WOW! This is really nice. They've done such a great job. This property looks so much nicer than it did before. Besides the landscaping and the sewing of some native grass, the front yard is just about complete. Get Ur Done guys!!

After I stained my fence using a brush, I saw on KZbin that some people dip the boards in stain before mounting them. This would cover the edges better, but the boards would need to be cut to length before mounting. Matt does a much better job of fence building that I ever could.

AT ONE TIME IN MY LIFE, I bought and sold land....land speculator....One of the first points I inspected was whether or not the land flooded. You are down there by a little stream. Notice all the mountains around you? In a really rainy episode, the volume of water from those mountains can be higher than you think....Walk around the area and see if you detect any craw fish mounts or even holes. If that low land floods, they will build mounds....Next, look for debris left over from rising water, such as twigs and leaves in the lower limbs or even debris which pile up around tree trunks. Perhaps Matt already checked for leftover flood debris. Matt is extremely gifted with construction skills, but rising water is a different matter. I clearly are unaware of that particular elevation.

Your “hurricane” comment is naive. If you haven’t built in hurricane or tornado areas, you probably don’t understand how a storm actually creates the damage and that it isn’t ever 100% equal force being applied to the entire impact zone. My point is that there are so many variables to consider that where something you built survived a cat 4 storm but gets mauled in a cat 1 storm when built exactly the same, the fault in feeling secure comes down to ignorance. The best example of this variable being how one palm tree get ripped completely from the soil (extracted and deposited 100’ away) while another one the exact same type and size planted within feet of it remains standing in its original planted spot. Was it the difference in the storm or something unique to the trimming of the plant, how it was planted, fertilized/watered, soil conditions, it’s root system, etc. BOTTOM LINE: Every detail matters and that is why there are standards when building a structure in a zone known to get storms. FACT OF LIFE: Everybody gets to be right and everybody gets to be wrong. The proof is in the pudding and the rules get made by massive voting all tied to actuarial data managed by insurance companies and used by standards groups within the various industries that provide materials and their rated success. Those who map to those standards and use insurance are protected (held harmless against potential damage). This is the group that is going to be right whether they are or not. Everyone else is defined by their anecdotal stories. None of the votes placed on social media mean a flip….only the one of the person deciding. I like both ….being protected in certain areas of liability and running “mad dog” in others (where I self insure). It boils down to risk v reward. To each their own….hopefully, a person will own their shite and not blame others when something doesn’t work out.

If you are going to use that truck to tow your motorhome I would encourage you to check the tow weight because I believe that the RV is exceeding the tow weight of that truck. Also the bumper that you have will not hold that RV very long. I have seen people use those bumpers but it will bend it like crazy. You can have an appropriate hitch installed on your frame which is where it should be and you can have air shocks installed that way the rear end can ride at the height you need it to. Many years ago I had a Chevy Venture van and an RV and when I had the hitch installed the RV caused the van to ride real low so I had the air shocks put on that way I could tow it into the mountains. It worked great.

That piece of property you move the trailer to is relatively flat for a reason... overflow from the creek that becomes a river probably made that shelf, if not land subsidence! If you build... build on super stout pilings that are cross braced. I'm thinking you should have a Flood Survey Map to see what areas of your property are zoned for flood hazard. I'm just sayin'! I worked flood claims for 25 years with the N.F.I.P. (National Flood Insurance Program) all over the USA and Virgin Islands... Coastal, inland, mountains...I can't tell you how many times the insureds would tell me, "It's never, ever flooded here before!"

There is a simple trick to maneuvering an RV, just keep going until something sounds expensive. Also, the flat tire wrecked your stabilizer. If you put them down and that tire goes flat again it will get worse. Cordless drill and a socket can wind those jacks up in seconds.

Nicely done😊 easy fix on trim. If you ever want or need to pull something large like a trailer, boat, or tractor, put on a real hitch that is tied to the frame, not the bumper. It tried to pull a guy's small truck out of a snowpack with my winch. He attached the cable to his bumper hitch. We both watched as it looked like the truck was moving. Until we noticed the bumper pulled a foot away from the truck body. He rehooked the cable to the frame and pulled the truck out with little effort. So the moral is have a hitch that is tied into the frame and not the bumper. Imagine the surprise of driving along and your trailer passes you or flips you over. Also use safety chains and electric breaks on the trailer.

To inexpensively extend the life of your fence, dig a shallow trench a foot wide between the posts and fill with gravel up to the bottom edge of the boards, and design the trench to run out downhill when filled with rain. Then get epoxy and a roller and seal all the top cut exposed end grain of the boards. Your fence will thank you.

Well team in classic GBU fashion you did it again and amazed me with another project. I would have bet money the bumper was going to rip off or Matt was going to get stuck. Thankfully I was wrong and great job with the move. I love the fence and the wall. They are beautiful and will last a long time.

What could possibly go wrong? Getting it done the GBU way. Don't let fear get in the way. I love it. Scary. But I love it. Good luck in your new area. Cheers

I have been following you two since the beginning of your adventures on your sailboat. Now with your latest project, I really love tuning into your new adventurers every week. Much respect and love. You guys are going a super groovy job. Tell your nay Sayers to piss off. You are a really cute couple.

One of your best vids. Funny, tense, a few casualties, happy ending and colorful play by play going downhill.

Wow, if that is the 4 cylinder tacoma, that camper is way too much weight. Tough little truck

Fencing looking great. Wow, what a move. That trailer is a beast, the truck looked like a toy, great job with getting it done. 👍
