@@bearcingetorix6326i never understood this whole need a 4wd thing that people do recently, if you saw where people drove ans what they towed with 2wd's that had far less hp in the 60's and 70's you'd be amazed, my mum used to drive her Morris 1100 on Frazer island (there are no sealed roads on Frazer island even now, just beach or bush tracks), back then if you got bogged in the sand people just gathered some sticks and leaves to give you some traction and pushed the car. As a retired contractor I've had your issues...before you put rock down, I stopped using fabric. If walked on the rocks, on top and below, eventually poke holes allowing weeds. Also with fabric down it restricts ones ability to bury lighting wires...solar lights suck...planting...I understand the circumstances...trust me. Also, with your driveway...if you don't put in containment edging you will lose much of your rock. Use a 3/4 minus. If it's select, meaning all one size, it won't lock together well. The use of a vibrating tamper on top. Try to clear all big rocks and debris then use a preemergent to kill weeds and help for weed control. You will have to control organics from collecting on the drive. If not, it becomes mulch, then dirt and your back to square one.

When we built our last house, the builder put down heavy black fabric, then grey stones, the size of my hand. Later when I defined the driveway area, I found roadway fabric at a stone company. Next, we topped it all off with 57 stone. That is a mix of size 5 and 7 stone because they fit together better. The fabric keeps the stones from sinking into the ground. We lived there 12 years and never needed to add stone. The fabric definitely saved money in the long run. Your landscaping looks great. The space in the corner of your block fence and wooden fence is screaming for a bush. Love you guys. We are retired and live in Central Florida.

Having faced an all but identical situation, suggesting you consider spending the money for concrete with a deeply broomed finish for traction. Broom at 90 degrees to the drive. Pour a parking pad and pad for your RV while you're at it. Gravel will just eventually sink and there is no end to it no matter how many times you add more gravel. Thanks for the many seasons of great videos! Good luck!

I built a 2000W off-grid solar system 3 years ago and use it almost every day to run a big A/C in our lanai. This week I purchased a 2400W pure sine-wave inverter/ solar battery. I tried a smaller unit from Ecoflow, but it had problems, and Ecoflow technical service sucked so I returned it and got this bigger, better unit from Anker with the expansion battery. I already have eight solar panels. With a couple of solar panels and this Anker Solix 2000 767 solar battery, you could easily have the power to run your RV. I highly recommend this unit. Many vloggers that we watch, doing the kind of stuff you two are doing, were apparently given that unit for free to promote its sale. You should ask Anker about that.

You need a binder in the stone you order for the roadbase. The typical road base material used in the PR & Caribbean region is a 1 1/2″ -3/4″ Limestone base rock & shell moro with limestone/shell sand/gravel binder. The material compacts in very well and dries up into a nice hard roadbase. Centerline crown your roadway for drainage to each shoulder. Overtime you just add where base settles, create ponding or ruts from driving....and eventually you can top with a finer stone. In future, you should get rid of ALL weeds and treat soil with post-emergent herbicide before placing fabric & stone.....weeds seed will just grow thru otherwise. And once every spring you need to reapply a pre-emergent herbicide to keep new weed seeds from growing in your stone.
