So many rude questions 😢No one thought for a second that shes pregnant and shouldn’t be treated this way? Also, I for one love the California home. It is a dream! Especially the garden! It’s where MaCenna is the happiest. She beams in her home projects and overall love for her space, partner, doggy baby and soon to be baby boy. Do you MaCenna. Not everyone is hung up on the cottage. ♥️

Having your mom there to help in the beginning will be life saving and such a blessing. And even though you love creating content, I feel there is a time for everything and that newborn time with your first child will never come back. I humbly suggest to just live in that moment and soak it in because it goes by so fast.

I did not have anyone At home with me after my child was born and I was OK with that. Of course I had my husband, but it was just so wonderful to have that quiet time with our baby. We took the baby to meet my grandparents On the third day and also my immediate family also came to my house to see the baby. It does go by so fast. I actually miss that time.

I’m glad you defended yourself a bit on the cottage thing. Some of the comments about it are too much. You always said the cottage was more of a retirement home, that you planned on going back home and starting a family! It’s okay to love the cottage but at some point people are going to have to move on. That or simply stop watching if you’re genuinely that bothered by her current content and not working on the cottage. I was watching McKenna when she was still living in her apartment, and that was years ago! She has always been on a journey and evolving and growing as a person. People change, people move houses and start families, etc. that’s LIFE. So it’s really time to look beyond the cottage because her channel was a thing before the cottage and it’s obviously a thjng while she’s not actively working on the cottage. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Well said! I think the commenters who drone on about wanting cottage content again (like during the covid years) somehow don't understand that her home is in LA and the cottage in TX was always going to be an investment, a place to stay when visiting parents, not a full-time residence. It's in a VERY small town and from what little I've come to know about MaCenna and Romeo - they're much more suited to the LA life. Yes, the cottage is pretty and MaCenna has done an OUTSTANDING job on the kitchen there, but personally, I'm loving the LA content so much more. I live in TX and wish every day that I could move somewhere else. :(

I am sorry, MaCenna, that people feel so entitled towards you. I read the questions under your community post & honestly, so many of them angered me. People act like you owe them content that they “originally subscribed for” & it is appalling to me that they are so vocal about it. Nothing stays the same in life & you have always been so honest & forthcoming in sharing so much of your life with us & letting us know your priorities. When my daughter had her son they were given the cap the baby wore fresh out of the womb to take home to their dog. This was so the dog would have the baby's scent before they brought him home. Must've worked pretty good because when I came to visit the baby the dog would plant herself between me and the baby or watch me like a Hawk if I were holding him, lol. That was her baby to protect.

I think it’s because for the majority of people having a nursery on a different floor doesn’t make sense. If she likes it that’s fine. It seems like it’ll be mostly used for storing baby items and she’ll be keeping the baby downstairs for the most part. My only pet peeve is seeing the master bedroom from the living room. You see the whole bed and the room. French doors aren’t helpining either.

I have a story for you, sit down and relax. When I was 26 I had my son, after being told it would be difficult for me to get pregnant, well obviously, difficulty is not part of my vocabulary. So thinking that was all I was gonna have. Aron’s 45 my nieces and nephews kept having boys and no girls, well…. I got pregnant at 45 and had a red headed baby girl, which thrilled me to death. All the second children in my family are red heads. Anyway I couldn’t believe I was pregnant at 45. So now I have a 33 year old son and a 16 year old daughter. Gotta love it!!!!

For the commenter asking about pressure to have babies I got asked all the time. I met my partner at round 23 and though we quickly got engaged I realised marriage wasn’t important to me at all, commitment was. So we were constantly asked when we would get married and have kids. During our second interaction, our first time hanging out alone we discussed neither of us wanting our own children. We were very close to our sibling’s kids and come from big families. I was even asked wouldn’t I want a part of us to live on when we died😮 well, my partner did die at 49 and having kids live through that would have broken me. We had over 20 years of a good relationship where we really knew each other as people and faced tough things. I’ve never regretted our decision and neither did he. Just be true to how you feel. Never have kids because it’s expected.

I taught and completed my masters with my first baby... if yours is chill... you may have extra time. I know what helped me was pumping and having a swing. Pumping was nice because I could schedule it and see how much the baby was drinking. You will be a great mom!!

You handled some of those very judgy and presumptive questions with such grace! You and Romeo are going to be amazing parents and you gotta do what feels right for the both of you and not whatever society pushes as “normal.” That’s one thing I’ve always admired is you always stay true to yourself. It’s truly a breath of fresh air to see

As much as I enjoyed learning and growing with you while you were in Texas, I’m still traumatized by the windows projects!!!!😱However, there is nothing more rewarding than being a mommie and daddy!! I know that you and Romeo will make amazing parents and that this chapter will definitely be the most memorable! Thank you for sharing!! ❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏

I took a little while to figure out how to phrase this comment because it is really meant to be helpful and not hurtful. I felt that you were hurt by the question about the Texas house and if you were going to finish it because people miss that house being featured on your channel. I think a lot of the reason, at least this is how I feel, is that there are so many content creators (even in the interior design space) based in southern California. So, we are inundated as viewers with content about southern California homes and California in general. You've admitted before that California isn't for everyone, which I appreciate because that's very true. I of course have visited Southern California for pleasure and also for a lot of work trips. I've definitely enjoyed my time there but am always happy to leave. I did spend some time in wine country last year for vacation but not many people share content from that part of the state (at least as far as I've seen) and that part of California is vastly different than your area. If content creators was spread out through that state more, we may get more of a variety and wouldn't feel as if we're hearing the same stories and visiting the same locations because so many content creators frequent the same spots. You have an advantage, though, as your style is different than the other interior design creators, so that does help to not feel like I'm watching 10 of the same channel. The media doesn't help either as they make the country sound like California and New York are the only places to be. I live in a state that I think is ten times more interesting and beautiful than either California or New York but if I talked to someone outside the U.S. they probably wouldn't know where my state is located and if I talked to someone that lived outside of my state that had never visited, they would think of one particular city that isn't representative of the rest of the state in the least. There are 50 beautiful states in this country and people are tired of being fed a lie that only 2 of them are worth notice. Also, the house in Texas was a complete gut job which is always more fun and impressive to watch. I actually couldn't see your vision for that house for the longest time. It's previous layout was one of the worst I've ever seen and I thought it was in terrible condition. Once you had the walls up, I could finally get an idea of where you were going with that property and I started to love it. You've done an amazing job with it. You are also doing an amazing job with the California house but as the changes for the most part are aesthetic and not layout/structural, it's simply not going to be as dramatic of a transformation. However, this is great content for people who are actually redoing their homes/apartments as these are projects that are more attainable. A lot of your viewers may be like me where we're simply dreaming of being able to own a home one day so we feed off of the dramatic transformations that we see featured for inspiration and to give us hope (I'm 30 and have no idea if I'll ever get there). Again, you're doing a brilliant job with both properties and you are a great content creator, I'm just burnt out on hearing about California and the transformations hit different due to the nature of them. Your kitchen reno will be more in line with the transformations we saw for the Cottage, so once we have that final episode, I think the comments on that are going to be very positive.

As far as next projects, the built-ins you mentioned in the family room would be a good idea! Your adorable LA cottage (that my friends and I lovingly refer to as Rosehill Cottage) doesn’t have very much storage and somehow those tiny humans accumulate a lot of stuff!! My mom was your age when she had me and she did tell me how in many ways it was a big blessing. More settled, more sure, more everything. She and I had a bond a lot like your mother and you and I have no doubt that your children will have as great a childhood as I had with you as their mom as I did with mine. (Which is immeasurably wonderful!)

I may have to watch this one again. I literally have a hard time paying attention to just talking. It's very nice you aren't having to work constantly on the hard stuff. But then again, it would be really hard for me to do all that computer work. I may have fallen asleep halfway through. Can't wait to see the kitchen & that precious little baby boy. Your life is about to take a major change. Action packed from sunrise to sunset. Can't wait to see Daddy & Mommy in that mode. ❤

I’ve been loving the renovation projects both in California and Texas. Props to you for all the hard work. I’m so happy for you and Romeo. I have to admit that I cried with you watching the video of your discovery. I won’t lie, I also am looking forward to more cottage renovations. The coffee bar is my jam, but I hope that you consider screening the back porch for use. It seems that it needs a place to enjoy outside in the evening with out mosquitoes and bugs. Take care and lots of admiration.

Just had this thought as you were showing your living room pre-renovation, if you were to put two baby gates, separating the back of the couch from the rest of the living room, that would be a nice long alleyway play area once baby gets a little bit bigger and more mobile. That way you can work at your desk while he is playing and it’s bigger than a pack and play. If you were to put lower shelving units with baskets, you could put his toys in the baskets the couch would hide the toys, but he could grab things independently. I have no idea how you can make that look pretty but I know you can!

MaCenna, just an idea to help you out with the hardware getting the paint off. If you soak it overnight in a crockpot with dawn & tide you can take the paint off so easy. Most of the paint dissolves off and you just wipe it off easily. Hope this may help. You are such a PRETTY expectant mama.❤❤❤
