very impressive and thank you for the tips, a mediocre cover costs 500 plus 10 percent tax in Los Angeles, IF YOU want quality it goes to close to 950+ then tax.... thank you!

I'm going to try this, but use a black vinyl as a cover.

Use black vinyl all you need is a heavy duty staple gun

Nice job,but I think instead of the plastic you're gonna have to replace all the time ,I would have used some water proofing urathane and maybe paint. But it looks good and your way keeps the price down.

Wonder if bed liner would hold up to the elements.

about to build a flush mount bed cover for my obs flareside. been watching these trying to get ideas. im gonna use bedliner as the paint for it and just need some ideas on how to make it water tight without it sitting on the bed rails

maybe mount C channel and let the cover sit on top of the C channel. Then any water that runs off the side of the cover, runs into the C channel. Then the C channel can drain out the back.

I think a coat of epoxy would be slick.

jameslee522 to hell with any nay sayers. I'm gonna guess your not a carpenter by trade? Good, me either lol. I am looking do build something similar, only I want the sides cab high. Basically a DIY Camper Shell. I had no idea where to start. I've come down to the DIY project instead of searching for hours and days and now it's been a year I've been online looking for something. Then when I find it, I usually can't afford it. This gives me ideas and really REALLY YOU helped ME out a lot with your project. Thanks for posting your project. OH, like your...mine is for a temporary use as well.

This video was obviously not made in 2021. Piece of plywood costs more than a truck... lol.

I would hate to see how much this would cost right now. A 2x4 stud is close to $10

Is that black plastic, as in the same type of plastic that is used for garbage bags?! For real?!?!
