Thank you so much for the great vid. The part about making transfer lines on the back of the cabinets and then pilot holes for reference was very helpful....something everyone knows except me, I suppose.

No problem Nancy! And I learned a lot before making this video from others as well. This was just my experience and what worked for me

Thanks for the video, shows how issues can arise in an installation. Did you consider laying the cabinets on their backs and joining them together first, then putting them in place. I am working on my kitchen now and doing that saved me a lot of trouble leveling because the cabinets are now essentially one large unit.
@LifeofBliss5 жыл бұрын
I did not... guess I could have for 3 of the 4 on the back wall and then added the 4th. Not a bad idea man. Are you worried at all about having shims on the back for support? Would be more difficult if they are one unit already I would think.

Its crazy to see how far the basement has come along... I was wondering why this video wasn't in the Basement Build playlist?

I did a separate playlist that was just the bar area.

So there was no high spot on the floor? Excellent work shaving the cabs to fit. It's the unforeseen stuff I like to see fixed.
@LifeofBliss3 жыл бұрын
Not really. I obviously used shims to fine tune everything but there was no major issue with a high spot.

What would you do if the ground was not level? Thanks for sharing

Find which cabinet will sit the highest, then use shims for all the other cabinets to level them off of that one

Not sure if you have feet under the cabinets, any worry of cabinets getting damaged from water on the basement floor? Asking since Im installing cabinets in a laundry room. Thanks for the info
@LifeofBliss4 жыл бұрын
No, didn't have feet on them. Not too worried. They lowest shelf is a few inches off the floor anyways. The bottom of the cabinet carcus might get a little wet if it flooded, but there would be multiple issues if it got that wet down here

Outlet under sink should be gfci near water. Otherwise nice build.
@LifeofBliss4 жыл бұрын
Thanks man. The gfci outlet is the first outlet on the circuit, so its on there 👍
@dwynne12204 жыл бұрын
Life of Bliss understood. But I’m pretty sure all outlets within 6ft of water have to be gfci by code.
@LifeofBliss4 жыл бұрын
@@dwynne1220 yea that's what I've read. It looks like as long as they are protected by a gfci upstream, all outlets downstream are ok. No need to double gfci on the same circuit. Then to "meet code" they just require a sticker saying they are gfci protected. That part is kinda weird, but i guess if someone didn't know it'd be helpful. Just what I've been able to find... all of my circuits have a gfci as the first outlet, so all outlets should be covered. Thanks for the heads up 👍

What tools did you use for the cabinet install? Is there a list because i want to install my cabinets for my bar myself but some of these tools i don’t know the specific name that’s in your video

Every circuit has a gfi outlet in the basement. First outlet on the circuit. Those outlets were further down the line.
