Well you certainly made that look easy ! I've got a real nice 7 pt. rack I've had for 40 years or so. I guess it's about time I mount it. I don't like rushing into anything. Thanks for the guidance.

very nice. Found your channel durring my 3 week hunting vacation in November. We had lots of rain so I had plenty of time to watch them all LOL. Most of my antlers are hanging on a beam in the man cave, maybe this will inspire me at least get some of them on the wall. Love your channel and the way you guys really seem to enjoy hunting and shariing your adventures.

What a shop!!! Would love to see your shop some day... unfortunately I live in S/W PA. Love your videos. Been mounting my own antlers for years. And European mounts. Started hydro dipping with spray paint. Wooden plaques hand made also. Wish I could send you a few pictures.

I have watched other videos and for my first attempt, I used a mix of plaster and concrete....mistake! It dried fast, was more difficult to work with as it was drying. It was ok, but the concrete made it more challenging to work with after it dried: more sand paper, harder to get perfect. I recommend to stay with the plaster only for your first few and watch this video over and over again.

I enjoyed this video. It encouraged me to mount the 9 pt I got this year. Any advice on how to clean/ preserve the skull cap? The shop also cut mine a bit close to the antler burrs but I think it will still work.

Setting the rack angle will be critical in making the antler look right. Tilt the antlers too far forward and it looks weird. Set it back too upright and it'll be hard to work behind it.

Thanks for the helpful video...as a result I have mounted up several backlogged antlers from years past and they now hang in my studio...thanks to your informative teaching . I have an old shoulder mount that needs to be redone and access to a Cape from a deer roughly the same size. You said to just go for it so I might...any suggestions. Thinking I would use a home tanning kit to get started

What's the best way to clean a deer shoulder mount?
@mtndeer5 жыл бұрын
paint thinner ( odorless and small amount) or windex on a paper towel wipe them down being extra quick and careful around any painting it helps cut the house hold grease and dirt. avoid the thinner on turkey heads but great for the feathers

The person who shot that small buck should be ashamed. That was a very young deer.
@jason632511 ай бұрын
You should be ashamed of yourself for leaving such a ignorant comment. You don't have a clue about what you're talking about. It's people like you that are making hunting a dying heritage. You did not buy that person's hunting license, you did not buy that person's ammo, bow, hunting lease, you are not buying groceries for that person. In some states it's legal to take a spike buck. You dont know this person or there situation. Could be a kids first deer, could be a grown persons first deer. Could be a person's 25th deer. That point is. It's not your business how big it is or little it is. People like you should not be allowed to hunt. You must bea ranch hunter and only shoot trophy bucks. Anybody can go to a pumpkin patch and find a big pumpkin. This person may have only seen this deer the whole season and needed to feed his or her family. Maybe they only had a day to hunt. You don't know. And it's obviously legal or it would not be in a taxadermist shop. You may want to buy some books and read what the true meaning of hunting is. Before you show ignorance on social media.
