Just back from my first Spartan event in WV… the whole Trifecta! Commenting here because I want to thank you for this video. I followed your advice to the tee and built my spear, practiced and hit all 3 at the race. When I first grabbed the spear in the Beast, I said “it’s exactly what I made!” Thanks so much for doing this and sharing the solid and accurate advice!

Im not sure where I am going to practice throwing this as I live in a city but given how easy you made it look to build one, I'll definitely give it a try!

Made one of these spears about 4-5 years ago. I sharpened the point real nice...tapered it just a tad .....you get a sharper and a bit more length on the tip of the spear.
