Thank you Dennis for another lesson. 2 questions please: When speed sanding why did you tilt the pad for lower grits and flat on others? When cleaning up ie: blending after raking the wheel, do you add more compound or leave it just clean? Thank you again and regards Paul

Hey Paul, When sanding I always tilt/or put on an angle for the first passes of each grit. (180, 320,400,600, 800 or 1000) and then do flat passes on higher grits usually 600 and 800 or 1000 only. It's just what's showing on video... sorry about that. hope that made sense. In future Instructionals I'll be posting a Full (real time) version as well maybe once a month as an extra or something for ppl that are patient enough to watch and hour plus long of polishing lol. as for raking, then blending I do not put any product, clean pad only just make sure you increase travel speed not to make burn marks in the aluminum... :) Thanks for watching.

@@DCSuperShine Thank you very much and yes all makes sense. And yes I am more than patient to learn from a Master like yourself. I am a self taught 62 yr old parttime polisher doing this for the last 2 years. Watched hours and hours of videos to learn the tricks of the trade and then tried them first hand myself on scrap metal. I can say that I do decent work with good results and also happy customers, but I am not to old to learn!! from the best. Thank you again for your patience, guidance and advice. Shame am 9000 miles away to come a visit or buy stuff from you. Wish you all the best

Me too. I use a 3200 rpm grinder with orange Zephyr wheel and brown maverick compound. No matter how many times I go over an area or how much compound I use there will be hazy lines left behind. If I go a different direction the marks change so I think my wheel itself is leaving marks

Nice job man . Question. Are you at 2200 RPMS throughout the whole process?

Hi Dennis, I was wondering if there's and particular brand of sandpaper you would recommend or abrasive type. I've had varied results myself depending on the paper I have used

I normally use my own paper! Waiting on a huge order… 🙄 In the mean time this paper works well I think it’s a cheap 3m brand just looks and feels like the 3m stuff I use to buy years ago. Mirka and rino are two others brands I like. Hope this helps

Sanding was probably 30-40 mins… and polishing was about the same 30 mins. Hope that helps :) Thanks for watching!
