DIY! How To Replace a Bug Zapper Light Bulb

On the bottom of the zapper there is a round hard plastic that comes right out. You don't have to remove any screws. Use a shoe string and loop under the bulb and just gentle pull out . Easy. The just place new bulb . There are 4 prongs that go into the small holes. Replace the cover and your done. Took me 30 sec . And I was just doing it the 1st time. No don't pull with your fingers. Safety first

the plastic piece on mine is impossible to remove! It's clearly a separate piece, wiggles, but for the life of me I cannot get it out!

Hi. I have almost the same lamp but with a 18w bulb that died ,can I put a 15 w bulg instead?? The prong are identical btw I just can't find it in 18w. I just wonder if it's possible. Thank you

Same here I tried to remove the bulb as shown and it busted and cut my thumb from one to the other I'm bleeding like a stuck pig! The base of the busted bulb is still in there what the heck do I do? Take a screwdriver and try and force it I mean what the....?

I must have bought the wrong kind of bug zapper because the bulb in mine does not come out of the unit at all. But I'm going to go to the link to buy the bulb and then buy a bug zapper that fits that bulb. Then I'll know it can be replaced. Thanks.

Why is it so hard to ecucees the builb in the bottom of the stinger bug zapper cage instead taking a apart the bug zapper or just have a screen out with the bug zapper!

Carefully and wear gloves!! The bulb busted while I was removing and it cut me badly.

i have a bk 40d flowtron, its transformer bug zapper like this.... and it takes 40watt bulbs, however 32 watt bulbs are sold as a 40 watt replacement... if you ask me the flowtron is seeing an increase in voltage to the grid. i think it would work and i would try, maybe make sure the ac side of the transformer is not over heating before declaring success... just do not completely remove the bulb and starter, this will send too much electricity to the high voltage transformer, and i fried mine in a day and a half, but it was old vintage flowtron pm1500... anybody try an 15 watt bulb in a 18watt slot? now i want one :D
