If the snap ring is internal and in the grove do you end up breaking it to pull out the axel? Do you just put the replacement axel in place without the a snap ring?

Hey Jamie! I recently bought an 06 gt that had been involved in a minor accident (light pole) that broke the entire wheel hub off the lca and yanked the driverside cv axle out with it. So I'm watching your video for the assembly not so much the disassembly 😂 anyway, you mentioned a tiny retainer clip on the end of the transmission side of the cv axle, is that internal? If not then I'm in deep shiet since the axle looks to be undamaged (which is crazy) but I don't see a clip anywhere, I do see the groove you mentioned though. Thanks!

@@jamiejonesthecarman unfortunately no, it seems that when the axle was jerked out, the snap ring went into the transmission/differential or atleast thats what I'm guessing.. I'm in the process of trying to locate it. These are oem axles so I'm sure the snap ring was there prior to the accident. I'm hoping to find it, using a flexible magnet tool to go up through the drain plug.

Hi, have the same car engine 2.4 i had a blown rubber boot which was replaced in a garage. Lately the car has started vibrating at a certain rpm at all gears. Also vibrating when kick down I suspect the cv axles. What was the vibration scenario you had ?

Generally yes cv but you need to check motor mounts and verify wheel bearing is good

@@jamiejonesthecarman Thanks !!! All four motor mounts replaced few weeks ago, i'll do both CVs and see ... One more question, have you replaced transaxle output oil seals ? how much transaxle oil has been dropped when pulling CV out of it ?

@@jamiejonesthecarman i just did my passenger and the front part of the axle got stuck and the rest came out, ended up having to cut off the rubber and clean off the cv axle and then i cleaned out where it was and then put it back in , put clamps around it and push and pulled and it popped out after ab 5 mins of doing that
