DIY:How to replace timing belt on a Peugeot/Citroën 1.4.

In this video, i will be changing the timing belt on my vehicle Peugeot 207 at home with no fancy tools.
am not a professional mechanic but I do have good understanding about fixing cars and like working on them in my spare time.
After extensive research found the following vehicles have the same engine:

Hi, Do you know the recommended mileage for replacing the timing belt on these? Looking online it seems to be either 75k or 100k depending on driving conditions... Thanks

Yes as you said, they do recommend to replace the timing belt on 75,or 100.

@@aa4you676 thanks, just seemed quite a wide range. I’ve just bought one reasonably cheap, currently at 80k and hasn’t been done. Trying to decide if I can do it myself. Cheers

@@stevenwoodford07967 if you just bought one and no history of it been changed so it’s better to do replace it. Yes you can do it yourself as does not require special tool. Just do some research first to be more confident. It will take you about an hour or so to change timing belt and water pump.

Hi. Do you know how to take out ECU to remove the battery? For a 207cc 1.6 turbo. Thank you.

Hi Jonny, actually you don't have to remove the ECU to get the battery out, but it it's better to remove it as sometimes the engine lights come on if the ECU still connected while you changing the battery. ECU located next to the battery and covered with plastic box. First turn the car off and take the key out and let the car settle for about 5 minutes, then open the bonnet and remove the plastic cover, the ECU hooked into a little catch, the ECu connected with 3 clip plugs remove them. Note, when you remove the ECU and see the time and day is different don't worry just reset them.

@@aa4you676 on youtube I saw everybody taking out the ECU case, some taking the wires off some not. The problem is that case is sitting on the battery "leg" securing it and I don't know how to take out that case.
