Forget the hot knife, those fumes are not good to inhale. I would only use it for intricate cuts. Get yourself an electric carving knife with the serrated edges. You know the ones you use the slice bread ,turkey or ham. It works great on foam.

The bottom came out great. It is the the wrap around at the top that needed more foam so the chair looked like the original. the original you modeled it on has lots of foam in the wraparound on top and is larger and much smoother than the one you made on top. I know it would cost a little more but would look so good.

You should buy one of those electric knifes that grannies use to cut cooked meat. No smoke, and you can cut the foam like butter! Unfortunately I don’t know the English word for those things

You mean the last layer? It’s very Normal sponge it’s purple just because here each color means a different density and I under a more sturdy one for the last layer

cut holes in each end of each bolster then thread a pool noodle through, then sew them together around the seam of each end . this will help your back hold its shape. then get the largest eye and hooks {like on a bra} to attach to the back. this way you can use this piece a a couch/chair or an ottoman.
