Thank you so much for your creativity. I had no idea how I was going to sneak Red Velvet Mary Jane's with cherries on top into our home w/o my hubby noticing. $600 for novelty shoes is a bit much but a labor of love is a different story. You're brilliant. Much love. xo

Omg... I've been working on these for 3 days, and I guess I suck because my hot glue layers are super bumpy... How do you get yours so smooth and perfect?

Did you seal them with anything to keep them from wearing away? Nice video 🙂

Any issues with the dollop under the cherry? I was thinking of using silicone (usually what is used for whipped look in Japanese deco)
@fairytalesalive6 жыл бұрын
shippo162 I've never used silicone but it definitely sounds like an interesting option!!
@shippo1626 жыл бұрын
the_way_to_fairyland the lotion method might be easier! I think I'll try it since you haven't had any issues :) 👍
@fairytalesalive6 жыл бұрын
shippo162 Yes it worked quite good for me. The only thing is that the mass wasn't very soft and I had a hard time getting it through the piping bag. Maybe you can see me struggling in the video :D so this would definitely be a reason to try your suggestion 😊
@selenahender28267 жыл бұрын
omg that's amazing i love them. Quick question, won't the pastel come off on your fingers when taking your shoe off or come off if gotten wet? Do you coat the shoe in anything to stop paint/chalk coming off? Many thanks, fantastic work!
@fairytalesalive7 жыл бұрын
Selena Hender Thank you so much for your comment 😍. Honestly I haven't thought about the possibility for chalk coming off yet, it stayed on quite good until now. But to be safe you could use maybe a clear topcoat or something like that? 😊
@selenahender28267 жыл бұрын
Yeah i was wondering maybe a varnish or some sort of clear sealant? I've done lots of projects with chalk and sometimes it can rub off, so just wondered what would be most hard wearing for shoes. I adore these shoes you've done, so creative, would go beautifully with my lolita outfits. Ill deff have to look into making some. Thanks so much :)
@fairytalesalive7 жыл бұрын
Selena Hender thanks so much, such a big compliment! 😍 Yes I can definitely imagine this shoes in a lolita outfit!! 😍 And yes some clear sealant should work. I've never used some so sadly I can't recommend a special brand or something :/

So beautiful!!!...I just want to try dat out on man made leather shoes...If I put d glue gun lines on it...The gum just gets peeled out...How does it stay on you shoes so well
@fairytalesalive6 жыл бұрын
Shwetha S G Thank you so much!! 😍 Yes it stayed on my shoes pretty well. I don't know why its not working with your shoes. Maybe its because of the texture of the leather and using a different material would work? But I don't know sorry 😔
@bloomingpassion24046 жыл бұрын
Could I use diy texture paste on shoes to get that effect..Coz glue gun method is not working...And if yes how do I seal everything at last?
@fairytalesalive6 жыл бұрын
Shwetha S G If you diy paste dries completely, I'm sure it would be a great alternative. I haven't used any sealing opportunities yet. You need some clear varnish for this. I have seen a lot of people using mod podge for this purpose. I hope I could help you 😊

Let me start off with- these are amazing. Would be great for a photo shoot I am planning. Just curious since it’s been a few months since you have made them. How many times have they been worn and have they cracked yet? Hot glue cracks easy in colder weather and with wear and tear. Also the paint as well. I have shoes where this pAint has cracked. Just curious if these are one or 2 time use shoes or made to last at least a 10-15 time wears. Ty and wonderful work.
@fairytalesalive6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment 😊! I didn't know hot glue cracks this easy. I haven't worn them that often yet, just for pictures like you said 🤔. Maybe using silicone instead of glue and a protective varnish for the paint would be a better option if you want to wear them a lot
@kittenlamar5 жыл бұрын
How do you fix up the pastel chalk so it doesn’t wash off?
@fairytalesalive5 жыл бұрын
You could use a clear varnish. There are also mat forms of varnish if you don't like the shiny finish. Sadly I can't recommend a special brand or something. But just look up online or in your local craft shop, I'm sure you will find something that helps you 😊
@kittenlamar5 жыл бұрын
FairytalesOnLive what kind of varnish should it be , acrylic right? And thank you a lot!
@fairytalesalive5 жыл бұрын
@@kittenlamar yes acrylic varnish is a really good idea!! 😊 and I would also look for acrylic varnish that can be used outside so you can even wear your shoes on wet and dirty roads without worrying 🤔

Won’t acrylic paint crack though since it doesn’t stretch? Like if we’re to go on a walk I feel they would eventually crack

Bryan Lopez It didn't crack on my shoes. Maybe thats because of the glue coat between the paint and the shoe 😊

Your shoes are amazing. How does the glue hold up over time, do you notice much cracking?
@fairytalesalive5 жыл бұрын
Thank you!!😍. No cracking yet. But to be honest I'm not wearing them that much. Just a few times for special occasions and mostly for photo shoots. But if you want to wear them out that much you could use a clear protective sealer thats made for using outside 😊

Okay so I tried this and I couldn't get the glue smooth at all. Mine is really lumpy. How did you get your so smooth?
@fairytalesalive6 жыл бұрын
Oh no😔. But mine isn't that smooth either and it doesn't matter because whipped cream can be a little uneven 😊. All I can tell you is to hurry while applying the glue because it cools and dries very quickly and the hotter the glue, the smoother it gets.
@pyrowolfblue32976 жыл бұрын
Thanks for replying! I had two more questions though. How long does it take the clay to dry and what did you use to make the cherry stem?
@fairytalesalive6 жыл бұрын
@@pyrowolfblue3297 The clay is oven baked. It depends on the brand of clay that you want to use how long and at which temperature you need to bake it. I am using Polymer Clay from Fimo brand. The cherry stem is Polymer Clay too. I would recommend to bake the stem first, then attache it to the cherry and bake again. Then paint the cherry with nailpolish and glue it onto the already baked whipped cream. Don't put the cherry with nailpolish into the oven. I hope I could help you 😊
