DIY are great, started Loop, then iAPS and since 6 month on AutoISF (a fork from iAPS/Trio with more focus on fcl). I'm now 6 month into fully FCL no adding carbs or bolus. This is the biggest step in my 4

I'd really like to see a comparison and exploration of the different apps an algorithms. various subtly different algorithms like: oref, autoisf, dynamicisf, and the apps: aaps, iaps, trio, loop etc It would be amazing to see some interviews with developers of some of these tools. For example I think there is a lot of confusion in the iAPS community around Trio and iAPS, and why they split. Everyone wants the best solution we can have and dividing the limited resources seems foolish on the surface. Thanks for the great info regradless

I am type 2 diabetes. About 2 years ago I talked to my doctor about going on a cgm . He supported me in that decision. I have to pay for the units but the information I gain from the reading are worth it. I started on Lebre 2 but upgraded to Lebre 3 on 1/1/2004. That was great to not have to do my reading manually. It is great. I have had less problems this this cgm. I am thinking of trying to go to an insulin pump because of all of the side effects caused by the metformin. I want to do that because my father was type 2 and was on insulin. I am thinking of DYI because I am a retired computer programmer, and I have home assistant for monitoring my home and I think that I could deal with diy. I need to know where to start. Thank you. I am in central Iowa and don't know how to find someone that has gone thought this process.

I chose to use DIY Loop when I made the decision to go to a pump. That was March of this year. It has been THE BEST! The amount of time i spend thinking about my diabetes is SOO much less. This community is AMAZING!

Yes! We have been using Android APS for our 10 year old daughter since May 2024. We are really happy with the ability to customise settings and achieve great control despite our daughter’s completely unmodified diet ie high carbs!

I can see a great application of the geo-zones: leaving the house to work with not enough insulin in the cartridge, or preventing to go to bed where you would likely be woken up by a cartridge low alarm.

The community needs to put more pressure on regulators and pump producers to keep their systems open and interoperable with open source loop systems.

It's time to make academic publications on this: that will give more visibility to endocrinologists.

I actually can’t find either Trio or Loop in my IFTTT app. Where can I find them to create an automation like mentioned in the video?

I have used loop for about 2 years. Currently have been on Android APS for about 3 years. Both great. I am dreading having to get a new pump and possibly losing the possibility to DIY. I have about a year left on my current pump.

Super cool video. Could you make another video with these shortcuts that can be done on Loop and TRIO?

I've been watching a lot of videos about diabetes and treatments, even though I don't have diabetes, because I am the reverse. I find it almost impossible to keep my blood sugar up in normal levels due to creating too much insulin. I use cgms in order to keep track of how low it goes as my normal glucose, when not actively snacking, can range from 70-85mg/dl. I fall low a lot and I've fallen dangerously low more times than I can count. So even though I'm not a diabetic, this information is still quite helpful because maybe there'll be a system for glucagon in the future for people like me. I have a lot of genetic mutations I was born with that has driven life through a loop of horror and no one helps me because I'm it. There's no one else out there...that I know of that's been recorded...that has the same chromosome mutation I have. I'm no programmer, but if I was able to learn the same types of things loopers have done Iw ould love to build a type of program that could be used to auto inject glucagon to help those who need to keep their blood sugar up.

The biggest problem is the limited compatibility of the pumps. Today we have what? Omnipod Dash and Dana i, maybe ypsopump. That is very sad, considering the huge superiority that diy systems have compared to the approved ones. I used Loop 2016-2020 with Medtronic ans Omnipod Eros, then AAPS with Insight for 2 years after which I went to Tandem as I experienced a technology burnout.

what we need is an AI app with ranges from 80 mg - whatever value. It's clear if we ain't 80 mg/dl most of the time we are done. I'm stuck with Control iq as of right now.

Got feeling that guests are not aware of AAPS possibilities. Good for them would be to educate more in Android instead of sharing old information. Also Apple does not make anything in Europe for diabetes. US maybe but EU doesn't care about US solution not available widely. That should be indicated that this talk only refers to US not EU. Very poor knowledge when it comes to really free solutions (android) not paid one like IOS (99$) per year if your country is accepted.
