Nearly Legit Films Ha ha thanks actually I think are with my figures like this all the time but I save “bigger projects” for my KZbin channel that’s why you don’t see much of me on KZbin. Plus it takes a lot of time to edit project videos not that the finished results look all that professional LOL

Genius, I actually used a popsicle stick for mines but used a hobby knife to shred the wood and make it more straw like. I then glued the shreds to give it a aged look. I also painted in a lighter brown and black washed it after. The black wash was very watered down I only wanted it to seep into the cracks. But that depends on how clean looking your figure design is. But this is ironic cause I used this very method of construction for my bruce lee figure.

Loki Daillest woww very cool. Your method will make it look very authentic like a real straw hat!! Thanks for sharing

thanks, I do a lot of tinkering with my figures all the time, but nobody sees it because I usually only save "bigger" display projects for my channel, but I might do more of these tinkering videos. But they are quite boring lol

Awesome video. I'm no longer a 1:12/6'' fan. But this will be proper for my 1:6/12'' figures. Thanks for the share. I did one with metal. When it bends it sucks.

Awesome job, one thing you might want to try is mixing black paint with modpodge to seal it better and make it more durable and then you can paint over it.

He's at it again. You could put the string through holes in the hat before you put the layers of tale are on so there is a mechanical and chemical connection and give a cleaner look.

Hi I was watching you tip that was great. I also do a straw hat by follow you tip but a bit change something. Thanks for sharing a this good technique. I add this vdo link in my page to respect your credit. Thanks again have a nice day.

I use a slightly different process for mine. It's essentially the same, but I use the little starbucks/coffee cardboard holders because they have that corrugated texture that kind of look like straw once it's painted. This is awesome though, i think this should help me refine mine. Thanks!

Thanks for this. I was wondering what to do about the hats for a diorama I am doing and you know what it's like if you over think something! I ended up with a total mental block...I am doing it in 1:6th but this could be used for any scale. I will have a look around your channel to see if there's anything else you do that I can use, in which case I will subscribe, and also to see if there's any tips I have that you could use. Thanks again

Thanks for watching, the first figure is Mezco One:12 Ronin Wolverine, and second is Articulated Icons. I don't have any links for them except maybe you can find them on Ebay. but in my previous ninja video I put up links to the articulated icons line in the description, let me know if that helps?
