If someone else still has the same problem and don't wan't to take apart device - Try holding power button 5 times ( each time for atleast 10 seconds). Mine started working about 3rd time pressing it for 10 seconds. Hope it helps.

Just had this problem. Not turning on and charging. Can’t fix it like the person in this video. So i tried pushing + and Bluetooth button and held it for at least 5 seconds. And then pushed the power button and it worked again!! (Also tried pushing + and power button for 5 secs, but + & Bluetooth worked for me!)

This guy that made this video must be an electrical engineer/technician lol or you just like having these diagnostic electrical gadgets laying around,lol , thank you for sharing and thoroughly troubleshooting this speaker device. So what was the main reason for it not working? And what was the correction you made mainly that made it to work at the end?

It appears to me that the connections on the charging port needed re-soudeeing. I'm guessing the wear and tear of it or even if it was roughly hanled broke the souder.

Thanks for this vid👍👍👍 When I oppened my unit one cable was disconnected, all I did was putting it back in and speaker is again like new!👍 Also Ive noticed that some of this flip5s have more screws (not only where the driver is), but fortunatelly mine was same as yours👍

My Jbl flip 5 doesn't have red & black twisted wire male part but does have the female part on the circuit board...that's weird! it had been working fine for a couple years..I think it was already refurbished before because I had sent it in to JBL bc it wasn't working a couple years ago (pre-cv19) and I'm not sure if the same exact one was sent back to me...??

Having the same problem and being me, I've just hit it hard with a punch after pressing turn on, play and up volume as nothing happened. Somehow, it's charging and turning on again and I'm glad, for now I don't have to open it 😅

1. Please plug cable in JPL to supply power to it 2. If power button turn on, please press bluetooth button + play button 10 seconds to exit service mode 3. Turn off and turn on again after service mode off completely (you will hear shutdown sound)

The same issue with a Flip 6. The trick with holding all the buttons works partially. Instead of totally being dead, now the power button is blinking, but cannot pair. My device says the Flip 6 isn’t turned on… But most of all… now I can’t turn off the JBL! The thing keeps blinking.
