Loved the video!! Had no idea how to put together a lampshade and the video completely broke it down. So very informative. Watching you makes me want to get some lampshades and take care of business. Thank you.

You mention cotton fabric. Is this suggested for outside? What do you recommend for lining the shade? Also, I couldn’t tell where you were stapling. Above the top ring ? Thank you, another great one! Gina

Question- what type of fabric is appropriate for lampshades? Thanks for your videos! Also I would love to watch a series on how to tackle a basic couch for a inexperienced diy-er. I have a Norwalk sofa from the 80’s my kids don’t like and it’s either getting sold cheap or I could tryyy to reupholster it! Thanks Aimee!

Very interesting, you make it look so easy. I may need to give this a try when I need a break from chairs. I see you are using your original sewing machine.

Yes, it’s better with lightweight fabric. I use both machines

This has made my day, always enjoy your videos, I've never thought about making a lampshade, but I might just give this ago, Some bulbs can give off heat, does this affect the type of fabric you use? More videos please ❤🏆

Incandescent bulbs have been phased out in Canada, in favour of fluorescent and led lights…so I don’t really think it’s an issue here. The bulbs are pretty far away from the fabric anyway. If it’s a concern though, yes, use fabric that has been treated for flammability.

Awesome video! Your explanations are so very clear. As another commenter said you make it look easy, but I feel you inspire confidence to give it a try. Question….no one will be able to see or feel the staples?
@ArtisanUpholsteryStudio3 жыл бұрын
Nope, they are completely covered

Well Hi again Aimee! It seems like it's been much longer than a month since your last video. This one was interesting. I never thought about doing lamp shades, but what a great idea! This was pretty involved and it looked like it took some strong hands to do it, but it turned out wonderful. Glad to see you are doing well. Don't be such a stranger though.

What material do you suggest using?
@ArtisanUpholsteryStudio3 жыл бұрын
I used cotton. I suggest a light fabric that will allow light to pass through

Miss your videos. Would love to know why always staples and no pins? (Although I get it on the lampshade, but why do you not use pins when making a box cushion for example?) come back to You Tube!!
