So glad I found this video, as I'm dying to cover a large shade in rattan! But, having trouble finding a large enough shade for my floor lamp. I need one that is 20" bottom, 13" top, and 12" High. Can you please recommend a source for large shades? Many thanks, and keep making your fantastic DIY videos!!!

I don’t have a good source. I bought mine at a hotel liquidator here in Tampa.

I would like to record my great admiration for these wonderful works of art. I am from Egypt, and my work is in papyrus, which is made of papyrus, the oldest paper in history. I love handicrafts, and I will try to make one out of papyrus.all my apprecition and respect for your wonderful art works

Great video. Thank you for posting it. Can you let me know where I can get the trim? And what is the trim called please?
@MimzyandCompany Жыл бұрын
I bought the trim at franks cane supply in California. They ship nationwide. It’s called spline.

If you get weird looks because of your pineapples know everyone thinks you are swingers 😂

Hi! Could you use spray adhesive instead of hot glue?
@MimzyandCompany2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jency!!! You can use spray adhesive for fabric but not for cane webbing because the cane is too stiff and it rolls up unless the glue has instant holding power. I tried it...and I also tried using gorilla glue but only hot glue holds the cane. How are you???
@jencybonham59392 жыл бұрын
mimzy & company I’m doing great…just to clarify…this is Jency the daughter😀. But mom is doing well also! That totally makes sense with the cane. I have a couple lamps I still want to use but would love to add some texture to the shades. I would love seagrass but don’t really want to pay the money that they seem to cost and thought this really looks like it could add the texture also. Thanks for the quick reply and hope you and all of yours are well too!

@@jencybonham5939 Ah! Well tell your mom and dad Hi. You could use burlap fabric with spray adhesive...I've seen that and it looks very much like cane.
