Hey again I tried this and I looooooved it . oh one suggestion / tip / hack and all that words . if you don't have coconut oil just use a mix of clear flavored aromatic lipbalm and melt it with the crayons . it came amazingly smooth for me

Okay, so I was looking around for helpful DIY Crayon lipstick tutorials and stumbled across yours and I have to say, I was a bit curious and was wondering how it'd end up at the end because the last few droned on about unrelated things at first and some i skipped completely because i couldn't stand them- anyways, point being, I watched yours and love love LOVED it! Not only was it extremely helpful but also fun as well! Most others just had the lip sample at the end of their video but i love how you had yours right next to it as its being poured so that you know what it will look like despite what it might cool down as. You used coconut oil and virgin olive oil along with the rose hip oil but is there a way to substitute or even leave out the rose hip oil? I've also seen some people put vaseline/petroleum jelly instead of olive oil, i was wondering which is better to use because i bought a lot of vaseline prior to watching this but if extra virgin olive oil is better then i might just use it instead... anyways thanks again, you're amazing!

I actually have never tried making this product using petroleum jelly, but I imagine that the final texture would be much softer, almost balm-like! I like the olive oil because it sets quite firmly, & you don't need a whole lot which gives the product a great color payoff! Rose hip oil is purely for lip conditioning, but you certainly can get away with not using it ;) If I were you, I'd give the Vaseline a crack, but only use the smallest amount to ensure the product has a strong hit of color. If that fails, Olive Oil should only be a few dollars from the supermarket! Hopefully I could help! Lots of love! xoxo

having a background in biochem, I feel compelled to warn you that even tho it says 'non toxic' and eating one won't kill you, continued exposure to the skin/mouth area can harm you. Some colors ingredients can/do contain heavy metals. Those can and frequently do build up in your system over time. Also, they can contain carcinogens.. you know, those delightful things that can cause cancer over time. while im sure it wont harm you on the short term, continued ingestion and exposure might well have some unpleasant consequences. on the other side of this, you can also try adding some pearl powder or pearl cream eye shadow for an iridescent look instead of the larger textured glitters. have fun.
