DIY LV Christmas Dress Sew Along | Emma Chamberlain & Phoebe Dynevor Approved | Thrills and Stitches

Let's make another festive dress that is not only perfect for Christmas (since it is Grinch-green) but also style-approved by the likes of KZbin star Emma Chamberlain and actress Phoebe Dynevor.
The dress follows a design by Nicolas Ghesquière for Louis Vuitton and was featured on the Elle UK November cover, which is where I first saw it.
I fell in love with it's beautiful color and the contrasting white zips, so I went ahead and created a DIY version of it! I will take you through the creation process step by step in a sew-along style video.
You will need:
- 4 meters of green fabric (I chose satin)
- 3 meters of matching lining fabric
- 3 bright white, chunky jacket zips
- Matching green thread

Where/how did you learn to sew? I attended Fashion School from age 15 to 19 but stopped sewing after that - learned it all over again in the last 3 years
What machine do you use? Brother Innov-Is A16 sewing machine and a Brother overlocker

How long did it take you to actually find the fabric? From when you got the magazine to when you said “yes there it is!”

That’s a good question, it took me roughly 3-4 weeks before I made a final decision. I would say though that I didn’t actually have the ‘yes there it is!’ moment unfortunately, as satin was actually something I wanted to avoid - I am happy with the end result though.
