I'm at a loss for words...only kidding I am never at a loss for words 😉. WOW !! That was a complicated project and it came out wonderfully. A first time project !! That side pattern piece ( all around the edge ) that gives the bag interior hieght is called a gusset. You've got a lucky dog 😀👍

Nice job! I have also made an insulated mat for my dog but I think I will have to tackle this project next!

Thanks! you can make it easier on yourself by omitting the zipper and using buttons and loops of elastic cord.
