Hey man I followed your example there and I made an actuator based off of the same kind of Ideal principles anyway I get it to actually but I can never get it to lock up so can you tell me what's up with the fuse does your 4 by 4 light still come on does all that stuff still work

If that actuator goes bad does it make the 4x4 light indicator to not show
@builtfree51215 жыл бұрын
MyGamingHands Official there is multiple things that could be bad, the switch itself or the front actuator or the actuator on the transfer case there all pricy but if you have a scan tool that might help

Yeah the truck I got is a 94 gmc and I need the older scan tool also it’s a Manual 4x4 no button for it

Good work. Any issues since installing? Planning to install something similar on my 94.

T Sherm If i did it again i would use like a stronger pto cable or something the choke cable was too weak and i would have to reach under there and help it lock in.

Mr GMC631 use pto or a stronger cable then a choke cable is not strong enough to move it and hold it there

I have an easier way but you have to remove it and put it in every time you want 4 wheel engaged

If you're ripping this off the truck, the whole truck would be totaled and beyond repair

Why don’t you just go buy a used actuator at a junkyard For five dollars
@mikem54753 жыл бұрын
Because they're unreliable and we don't have the time to keep fixing junk

So you went through all this because you didn’t have the money or didn’t want to spend the money (?). Either way, I give you my thoughts. First, congratulations on thinking out of the box and putting your brain to work coming up with the idea. I like that you have the ability to invent ways to improvise. That in itself is worth quite a bit. On the other hand, its kinda band aid and bailing wire quality, something a kid would do to his Go-Cart. I’ve seen this contraption work throughout my years on cars, bikes and motorhomes. I really don’t approve of drilling dashes, running cables through grommets like that nor wires hanging out of their respective looms. Kind of messy. Over time you may come to see my point but by then your quality of workmanship may improve. Once you experience true machine shop, automotive, robotics and electrical engineering you will hopefully see my side a bit.

Big high and mighty criticism with no specific advice. Where's your solution?
@spiet73807 ай бұрын
@@mikem5475 Couldn't you just pull out the old/broken actuator and jb weld it so the actuator is engaged for good? The driveshaft will always spin but the transfer case disengages. They sell a solid steel actuator that locks the front axle in. it's 150 bucks tho plus shipping. Some jb-weld would work just fine I'd think.
@mikem54757 ай бұрын
@@spiet7380 the amount of fuel economy you'd lose by reducing functionality would make that JB weld bubba repair not worth it, and it wouldn't last
