---------------------------- ABOUT THIS VIDEO ----------------------------
This is a really simple, modular headboard I made to complete the modular bed that I built for my son a few months ago. You could make this with some pretty basic woodworking tools and skills. The whole thing is made from plywood and you really don't need anything more than a table saw (or circular saw) and a drill to complete this project.
---------------------------- TOOLS ----------------------------
Incra T-Rule (the marking square thing) --- amzn.to/2mgnSDi
Arm R Seal Urethane Top Coat - amzn.to/2iv4NqI
Gorilla Gripper (for carrying plywood) - amzn.to/2mfgi7C
---------------------------- MY CAMERA GEAR ----------------------------
Camera Body - Nikon D5600 - amzn.to/2jWzgn3
Primary Lens - 85mm f/1.8 - amzn.to/2kH9ZwC
Secondary Lens - 35mm f/1.8 - amzn.to/2lidrup

Clean, functional, beautiful. (Speaking, of course, to the project, the narration, and the video production.) I always walk away from watching your videos feeling uplifted, calmed, and encouraged that I too might be able to build these gorgeous pieces. You're like my own personal woodworking Oprah. Thank you.

Here I am 3 years past this video. The year is 2020. And I came back here to get some ideas for a headboard I'm planning on building and still I find the same Chris I started watching even prior to this time. Same chilliness and attitude he keeps showing till these days. I just hope he's much closer to building the bigger room around that bed and fulfilling his dreams.

Seriously.... I can't get enough of these videos. The style is unprecedented. Very calming and easy to get sucked in. The work is simple but outstanding. Has opened my eyes to what a 3/4" sheet could turn into... simply perfect. Keep up the great work and please keep these videos coming. Great work my friend... truly.

This is gorgeous! Exactly what we're looking for. Thanks! Thinking we won't go quite down to the ground with the horizontal slats: probably just low enough to level the box right next to the mattress and leave a space below that. But I love this design because we might rotate our bed in the future and I didn't want to install a headboard into the studs. This one just sits where you want it, which is perfect.

Had you considered cutting the boards at a 45 degree angle on the top, essentially making it a french cleat system? You could just slide them in from the sides, and it would give nice holding strength. Great design, anyway.

Chris great work i LOVE this design. Your videos are great and slowly your convincing me on this modern design thing. Keep it up. Advice on the photography. You can take your 35 1.8 and stitch images together and get a panorama. With software like Lightroom you aren't limited to linear lines you can shoot in a grid and it will work all the same. This doesn't work for video but with your style you could insert stills and people probably wouldn't be any wiser. Oh wait you already do ;).
@Foureyes.Furniture
@Foureyes.Furniture 7 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yeah, I've used Photoshop to make some panaroma stuff before. Never really considered doing it with the furniture. Even still...the problems is more being able to get far away enough from the object. With the Panaroma there would be some distortion problems...that's why I've taken to 3D rendering some of the stuff.....SHHHH don't tell anyone ;)

In fairness this build is very simple Patrick and will be specific to the bed size/wall size as to its dimensions. Just make the horizontals whatever length you want but keep the ply spacers for when you are fitting it together so you can keep the gaps just right for the modular storage compartments. Great build @ Chris Salomone! I will be building one for my daughter very soon as this idea would suit her perfectly with very limited space beside her bed for lockers/bedside tables. And obviously you could go higher if required to include more shelving above the bed. Thanks for sharing. ;)

Such a great build. I would like to build it for my own, maybe I have the opportunity to do it in the closer future. How about some head resting cushions (don't know the name for it in English) that you can attach the same way like the shelves and boxes? You could fit the height to your sons needs!
