Yes, the pot will be fine. I highly suggest using a clay pot sealer. I think I might’ve mentioned it in the video description, but I’m not 100% sure. That should help maintain the pot.

This is the tile grout I used. amzn.to/3meGEXM If you want to buy it locally, you can check a craft store like Michael’s or Hobby Lobby depending on where you live.

Another way to break plates, etc. is to place them over an old towel on top of a rubber welcome mat or something similar. Hit the plates over the towel with a hammer.

Thanks for sharing a tip! Just be careful to protect your eyes and hands. I like using a tile nipper tool because I have better control over the size of the pieces, but you shared a great tip for others who might want to use a household item.

Do you do anything to smooth the glass edges? I am really thinking of doing this

I didn’t have to do anything because the pieces are embedded in the grout. You could probably sand the edges a bit if you find they are very sharp. Using gloves helps when you’re handling the pieces before applying grout. I hope this helps!

You are making hard work of the tile cutter. Try using the very edge of the cutter not the whole blade. You will find that you can cut it with one hand. Great idea using old plates though 👍
