You already have half the depth on the rear wall. This would make a cool hidden compartment for rifles, etc. Room for ammo, mags, etc too. Make it so you need to Push Up on Both coat hooks, (an un-natural condition) in order to hinge open the individual rear wall panels (x3). Use 2x3's for the rear support and cover the back-side with 1/4"plywood. Secure at the top and bottom (inside drawers) to the wall.

I really got to see the value in trim (because of this project). Simple to install, not too costly; but adds greatly to the esthetic appeal... I enjoy your videos.

Hey Matthew, are you going be making a set of plans for the lockers and cubbies? Looking at building something like this in a corner with this on the right side and on the left , cubbies along the top and down the left side with bench with shoe storage below

@shawnr7713 жыл бұрын
Very nice. Excellent work and descriptions. The only thing I would change is to make the crown moulding go to the ceiling. That way nobody ever has to dust up there. However this can also be used as a space to keep somethings out of sight out of mind.
@MatthewPeechWoodworking3 жыл бұрын
Good idea as always Shawn. This would have to be alot taller. But Yes great for "Hiding" things.

Currently building. My only question is, how did you attach the lockers to the bench?
@fdort3971 Жыл бұрын
#Matthew Peech thanks for advice. Where I struggle besides pricing...is the actual design process. I'm creative and can make a general idea of a design. Where I stumble is the finite measurements. I end up having to jerry rig or alter the plan. I am dyslexic with numbers...I can follow plans. I can figure stuff out...eventually. it's seriously frustrating and time consuming. Can you please recommend a computer design program to help beginners to take out some of the guess work?

Is that the actual location of the piece or is that just the staging pic? Just wondering in case you plan on opening the door with the laundry sign above it
@MatthewPeechWoodworking3 жыл бұрын
Actually thats where it will stay. When I designed the house for some reason I added 2 doors in a 12x12 mudroom. The back door to it hasn't been opened in 5 years. lol.

Lol. It is an amazing piece of functional art, like all the great things I've seen you build so far. Keep up the great work.
