Thanks. Unfortunately, thumbtacks can't be bought so cheaply everywhere, but simple nails with a large head should also work ...

in principle a great way and not expensive BUT there are easier and better ways using "punk style" conical nuts using a alu plate as bed ( perforated if you want) and placing these in a pattern, a 5cm spacing is practical this allows for a sturdy base as well as relative easy cleaning an other advantage is , that you can place some magnets between the pins on strategical places so your workpieces can be fixed by adding a magnet on the other side. ( think about cutting paper)

Amazing idea!!! It could be a bit longer probably but still. You can also use a 10mm or similar plywood stick a thin aluplate onto it and drilling holes and putting longer nails into it.... But it is a great idea...

@@modellbaukalender I found nails that is used to put tiles on roofs, thoese have wider heads than usuall. The idea is the drill 1mm 10x10mm grid onto an alu 1mm plate (I have it at home) and put the nails in the wholes from the back and stick a 3-6mm plywood to the back to secure the nails. If I just stick the nails onto the alu plate with CA it can be broken easily but this would help to keep on it's place...hopfully :-)))) But you solution is also great!!!! It just would might be better to keep more distance from the material and the base

they are Thumbstacks that you should easily find (in some Chinese store or stationery shop) it seems strange to me that you do not find them in Canada

genious! can i use staples in strips or part strips? ie. glue staples upside down. staples are cheaper. how much length do you need? or i could staple the back side of card stock with staples.!?
@modellbaukalender
@modellbaukalender 3 жыл бұрын
staples may also a good idea, length i think 8 to 10mm are enough

or.. just drive small nails into thin plywood? or... stapling lengths of wire to thin plywood? or just hot gluing the wire? or.. what about gluing or stapling a grill rack? or.. what about those plastic bird spikes? or.. cat scat mat? or .75 inch screws through a thin plywood sheet.

@@IronMan-yg4qw great idea, ya nail tack are $35 for 100 i calculated i'd need 1200!! that's over 300 bucks!! i think rows of 5/8" T50 staples into a white foamcore - that i would staple through into styrofoam while i make it might work perfect plus from what i gather my ortur 20w laser doesn't cut thru white so it should last a while! Will give that a try :) thanks @modelbau and @deadpool for great ideas

Wieso lackieren? Ohne Schutzvorrichtung oder Brille sollte man derartige Geräte sowieso nicht betreiben und nach ein paar Stunden Schnitt ist die Platte sowieso schwarz....
