whose hair is corn starch good for?natural hair is unprocessed hair but that does not mean black peoples hair unless there are specefic from hair and scalp experts who know this for different curl and textured hair. also corn starch that is not organic and have ingrediants that can cause damage likesynthetic chemicals etc It's all about what it feels like after rinsing and drying

I did an experiment with clove, rice and oats in a pot. I boiled it and left it on the stove in the same pot for 3 weeks so far. There is no spoilage at all!! No sour smell!! NOTHING. I FOUND OMG THAT CLOVE IS A MAGNIFICENT PRESERVATIVE 😍 🙌

When I use cornstarch as a thickener, I normally add the cornstarch to the water and stir with the whisk and it dissolves quickly and does not settle to the bottom of the pan , then I put it on the heat and let it heat up to thicken the water.

I am glad you were upfront with this. Many YTers give the impression that it's an alternative to relaxer or keratin. I did it abfew months ago and blow dried with a round brush. I have to add that my blow drying skill is above average. My hair is 3b and thin and fine. I didn't have to use a flatiron and my hair was super shiny. If I had wrapped my hair my style would probably have lasted for at least a week. But I like cowashing on about day 4 purely out of habit. I am sitting with it on mý hair atm. I havent decided if I am going to blow dry yet.

Hi. I have natural waist length hair, looks to be about the same texture as yours. This would be my 1st time dealing with LONG natural hair. I had Locs for 6 year and now I combed 2 out, but I stopped as Idk if Im ready for LONG natural hair. Ok. Here is the question. ARE YOU AFRAID TO DETANGLE OR COMB YOUR HAIR? Pretty much Handle it? I'm afraid that I would start off with long hair and break it off shorter, instead of it maintaining or retaining length.
@peytona9882 жыл бұрын
It is best to stay away from combs and mainly use your fingers to gently detangle to avoid such breakage. Wide tooth combs are okay, but make sure you detangle when your hair has a product on it that provides lots of slip!

@camsmith9312 жыл бұрын
Ladies please be careful with home made gels, preservatives are important to avoid skin and eye infections. I speak from experience. The only home made gel I can personally vouch for is flaxseed gel. I used this with no preservative with no problem. Home made gels, use at your own risk, remember the ingredients are food! Which attracts bacteria, fungi etc
@olabisiariyo80152 жыл бұрын
I need to ask you preservatives are from what sources, last i checked they are mainly from formaldehyde which is carcinogenic. So which is better? DIY if i choose to use.

@@Superlife1369 Hi, if you mean scared yes, going to the hospital with a serious eye infection (both eyes) arising from home made gel, is not fun! Like I said I never had any problems with flaxseed gel as it dries out and does not hold water. As I mentioned these gels are food (even worse if glycerine is added) when in your hair will also end up on your skin/face.

You don’t need to sieve it, you just need to ensure you mix the corn starch with cold water and never warm or hot. Warm/hot water makes it lumpy.

@twalker3867 Жыл бұрын
Corn starch comes from corn and flour is made from wheat. These are two very different plants! Wheat flour contains gluten, so imagine bread dough sitting on your hair. I think the effects of using flour would be dryness and stiffness.

Can I use cornstarch as a leaving conditioner, like must I wash it out?
@ma5953 Жыл бұрын
Brazilians use it as a leave in. I have tried it on top of my usual leave in conditioner and it is the best leave in ever. Comparable to if not better than the kinky curly custard minus the price tag. The box cost me 1.09 euros and it will last months... It probably needs to be done at lighter concentration so there is no residue. Also I think it is worth adding either EVOO and/or honey to it. This is going to be my next experiment. As a last point I read that you should not use a hair dryer and it needs to air dry otherwise you ll get residue. Hope that helps. Edit: 1 big tablespon mixed with 1 cup of water and one big teaspoon of honey works incredibly well as a leave-in gel.
