That's a great little set up, what I like most is that it is so functional everything does it's job, I would be painting those walls though and putting kick plates all around the bottom six inches because it is bound to get boot marks on it some time, Maybe some thin checker plate or formica type material, Anything as long as it is easy to keep clean and resists damage, Nice job and a great video, thanks for posting it. good luck.

I just love that camper!! I have a family of 5 as well, and really debated trying to get an rv, but I'd rather have that type of camper and have my jeep with me. Plus i always loved the security of a trailer like that vs a standard soft top roof tent. If you have some bad weather at least you have somewhere to ride it out in a more secure shelter. And i have the same frustration about finding one to fit my family.

I have a teardrop type of trailer but no family of 5. Just my 2 dogs and myself. However, this seems to be almost exactly what I want my next build to be, except for pop top. Great build, thnx for sharing 👍👍

This is a great build an very inspiring. I have wanted to build a trailer out of wood but worried how it would hold up to the weather. After seeing you glass the trailer and hauling it around the country I have more confidence. If I build a trailer I'd have to store it outside, I'm guessing covering it would help protect it from the weather. Again awesome build. I probably won't build exactly the same as yours but I may very well buy the plans. I have done big projects before and understand how much time gets spent sometimes figuring out the details. Keep the videos coming!

As you first popped the top,I thought," he did such a nice job and then he uses a blue tarp for the walls"! 😂 Then as it tighten you could tell it was nice canvas and it looks good.👍 After the kids climb in the top bunks and the lights are off, mention To them how bears know how to undo snaps on the side of the canvas and slide kids out and the parents don't even know till morning, THEN SAY GOOD NIGHT.😂😂😂

Great build! Do you know what the weight loaded is (including the 20 gallons of water)? Or dry weight?

It hasn't been weighed yet, but I'd estimate it to be around 2000 lbs.

I have a 95' 4Runner with a 22re 4 cylinder and am considering a trailer, but it'll need to be LIGHT for this sucker to pull it haha. I know it can handle 2k or more but I'd like to be closer to 1500 or less if possible. I don't need it to be extremely off road capable, but more or less forest service/blm roads.

It's an LX470. That's Lexus' version of the Land Cruiser, so it's built for off road! I have a review on it too.

No I have a Lexus, it is a hybrid the Rx450h. I suspect it is based on a Land Cruiser but I'm not very confident of its off road abilities. I use it mainly to munch 1000km a day while carrying our family of 4 and luggage across European motorways. I've taken it a few times off road on mountain tracks, a bit of snow and sand but nothing extreme like you show in your videos. Its air suspension does lift though (speeds up to 50km per hour) which is handy to go over big holes albeit when raised the suspension is pretty stiff / not as comfortable. Have you seen such Lexus models off road? Would be interested to know more about its off road abilities.

Sorry, I meant that the Land Cruiser was available in Europe. I've not seen anything other than the LX range off road since the other Lexus vehicles are more of a luxury crossover. Things like the RX series are fine for forest roads, but you wouldn't want to do anything too difficult with them.
