So awesome! And hardware stores will even cut pieces of lumber if you buy it there. Now to figure out if the IKEA things are paintable (paint or spray paint - outdoor-proof). And see how much it'd cost to cover my entire apartment balcony rails. Thanks for this easy, beautiful idea!! Yes, it reminds me of Moroccan lamps!

Yes, it's super strong. It has been through 3 storms now and holding up quite well. I plan on making a few adjustments like adding more zip ties and that's it.

Try putting thin clear zip ties to secure the tiles to each other! That should make them pretty storm resistant (in theory)

It is flexible, but I don't think it would go around the pipe, because if you bend where two tiles meet, they come unattach
