I built a fully removable camper for my Chrysler Pacifica 2020 AWD that sleeps 4 with two in a GFC roof top tent and two inside on a full sized bed with memory foam mattress. There’s a full kitchen with faucet, microwave, 40L Iceco refrigerator, and even a toilet. We used this on a 3 week, 7,000 mile roadtrip across the US and its worked great. I hope this serves as inspiration for your own build!

This is like one of those clown cars where things just keep coming and coming! Hard to believe how much you have in the van. You must be an engineer! This is fantastic. You should draw up plans and instructions and sell. Sure it fits a Pacifica, but most minivans are close to being the same. Or branch out later when you get specific measurements of other mfrs. Of course doesn't sound like you need the extra income, but maybe you could "franchise" by selling it all to others who want to advertise and sell, do their own minivan for the experience, and you might even charge a consulting fee to those folks. Most of us need more income. Anyway you are a genius!

I love your build. Thanks for all the great information. I’m female and 75+ and I’m building out my 2022 hybrid Pacifica for my husband and me. I found your video after I put in a floor to level it and took out front seats. I left in third row. I’m doing the kitchen area almost exactly like your build. But my microwave is 17.5” wide so I built a pull out shelf (similar to the fridge shelf) on one side of the top shelf. I can pull it out, open the door, put food in and start it when it’s pulled out. I like that it’s fully outside venting while cooking. I can even stand in the middle with the fridge and microwave both out. Usually the microwave and fridge are pushed back. The 3rd row is always up and I built a trifold type bed that is 26”x52” and it’s the same height as the third row so the last 20” of the bed have cushions on top of the those seats. There are two flaps that are 13” x52that attached by piano hinges that flip out to make the bed 52 x52 and the 48 x 20 third row makes it a 72” long bed. A full for most of it. The 13” front of the bed is on a ratchet so it can be flat or at many other angles. The three pieces of the bed are 3/4 birch plywood. Thanks for all the inspiration. If I could do this anyone can. I never used any power tools before and Lowe’s and Home Depot did all the cuts of the plywood. I got an electric sander, a drill, chop saw and new Pacifica for my birthday. I hope to have it all ready to go by mid April.

I’m an almost 70 year old woman on Social Security, and without tools, but I have a Chrysler Town & Country, which I would like to be able to use for camping so maybe with the help of your video I can have a friend help me to build something very similar. This is by far the best organized system. I have seen in the many conversions I’ve watched. I kept thinking to myself. This guy‘s gotta be OCD, which is a trait that I happen to have myself. We have a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica which I have outfitted as a camper van. We absolutely love the Pacifica! It’s like having a luxury limousine. Since we use it, sometimes, as a daily driver, it is setup up for quick change back to a passenger van. And since it’s a camper for only two people, it is a very simplistic setup. But, like yours, it has all the creature comforts we require. And since we do not need the rooftop for added sleeping, as you do, I have an Inno cargo top box which actually matches and compliments the body shape of the Pacifica and stores all of our outdoor gear allowing us to always have what we need ready to go, for a vacation or just a day trip. I must say, you did a marvelous job outfitting your Pacifica as a camper van for 4! Very well thought out and solidly built. Thanks for sharing your build.

It’s comforting to know that there are other OCD builders out there 😂. We all have the freedom to choose what is the right build for our needs. I just have seen way too many mediocre home built minivan set ups and it never felt right for me. After seeing your build, I can truly appreciate it from several angles. 1. Thank you for the clear and simple how to. 2. You also are very good at explaining the functionality of each parts and use cases. 3. I can tell that you put a lot of actual use test and purpose on how each part will work in real life scenario. 4. You tied all this together by making a very clear and simple to follow video tutorial. My back ground is in invention and graphic design, so I can truly appreciate the time and effort you put into this video and the build. Thank you again for sharing your labor of love and helping out the future van build community! You are the MAN indeed!

Wow! This is pretty darn impressive. Very well done and easy to remove and store when you get home. I'm never going to do anything like this but it's definitely fun to watch. It's weird but I was mainly watching to get inspired by your kitchen setup (not that I didn't admire everything else in the process, lol). You see, I live in NYC in a top floor apartment that gets unbearably hot in the summer and I'm also disabled and have trouble even getting out of bed sometimes. What that means is that I'm essentially trying to come up with a "camp kitchen" and emergency bathroom setup that will fit into my bedroom (right near my bed in the only room with air-conditioning) so I can hide from the heat but also for those days when moving is a real challenge (fibromyalgia can be a real b*tch somedays, nevermind my other medical conditions). Thankfully, I don't have to worry about electricity or running water so it's a bit different but you still gave me plenty of inspiration for things that might work. Thanks! 😁👍

(🌟X10)+nth degree, Absolute perfection!!!! Thank you!!!!!! Inquiries: • Considering the weight of this vehicle w/maximal loaded gear, including roof top tent, full water level in reservoir containers, the family included, (2 adults 2 children) what is the mpg? • Is there a dual gas tank w/this vehicle? • Where is the spare tire stowed? • Pending the weight w/maximum load, would the vehicle axle, undercarriage components need reinforcements? • What type of tires would be required for vehicle support, as well as, driving all terrain? Greatly appreciate your time in answering these fundamental questions. Happy & Safe Traveling.

Finally found a van life with children with a huge twist in van lifestyle. Say this lifestyle isn’t just for single person without saying this isn’t just for single person. Wow this dad got everything built and planned out not just for himself but for his kiddos too omg. Now any family out there who can pulled van lifestyle better than this using traditional suv passed survival mode.

Its possible to make a hollow plywood panel using 3.6mm ply and laminate it in layers. Cut out a few big holes in the internal layers first. You can remove maybe 80% of the material from the inner layers and reduce the weight of the overall panel by perhaps half. Without losing any strength. Just don't try and screw anything onto the hollow areas.
@todd.parker

We have the bumper-bumper warranty and have gotten our moneys worth! Thank you for sharing your design. We still have one left in the nest - so now we can handle the whole family. Q: Do you know the additional dry weight of the build?
@todd.parker
@todd.parker 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I actually think this is pretty great if you don’t want to spent 100k on a dedicated camper to use it a few weeks a year. I’d bet this build is less than 250 pounds, even with a full water tank. The frame and top/counter is super light, probably 80lbs max.
@pamelafeenstra1257
@pamelafeenstra1257 2 жыл бұрын
@@todd.parker Absolutely agree! Q: When you disconnect the rear seat, how does it affect the system? Any warnings or alarms, etc??? I can't imagine that this action would affect the warranty because the seats are designed to disconnect and store outside of the vehicle. I am not modifying the seats. I am just temporarily not using them.
@todd.parker

@@pamelafeenstra1257 no issues at all. Mine aren’t motorized so it’s super simple, just a few bolts and the car has no way of knowing. Maybe with the motorized one, it would note it

Thank you very much for sharing. Can you show a more detailed video of how you inserted the cables from your solar panels through the door and to the goal zero battery? Did it cause any concern if it is raining that there is a gap that is created by the cable? Did you have to drill holes so that the cables can through the door and to the battery?
@todd.parker
@todd.parker 11 ай бұрын
I show it in the video but I bought little cable holders that are self adhesive and stuck those in the door frame then zip tied the cables to that, making sure they were are flat as possible.
