Hard to remove the painter steel piece, without snapping the plastic handle, was able to glue it back together, but eventually it failed.

I found a simple way to do the same thing using a "Toilet Bowl Bolt" - which I just happened to have in my junk box. This bolt has a 1/4-20 thread on one and and a wood screw thread on the other. Having removed the roller shaft (cut with a hacksaw and extracted the remaining portion out the bottom), all that remained was to install a nut on the 1/4-20 end (so I could hold the bolt in a vise), then screw the handle onto the wood screw end. Done! I had an old roller laying around - so didn't have to buy anything.

You need to get a GoPro cell phone adapter piece. You can google a lot of buying options for them.
