Very nice. I would love to see you make a new version, panTilt.v2.0, with a remote switch. That would be awesome don't you think? I'm totally bewildered when it comes to hardware, but I'd imagine transmitter and receiver? But I wouldn't know where to start as I have zero electronics experience only software :( Oh (edit) and two power sources of course.

To big in my opinion. It is to much shocking to make it nice. With some other step engines it will go much smoother. On it self the design is very good.

you can use whatever motor you wish as well as whatever gears or drive surely, even something more smooth like a rubber belt surely. This specific setup really isn't relevant is it? Id also probably use nylon bushings.
