DIY powder coat oven - Propane heater modification for oven

Well Sir I just come a crossed your videos. I have to say thank goodness you didn't blow yourself up. I'm 73 and I just started building tadpole trikes and wanted to powder coat the frames and now with your videos and 2 home oil tanks I have a 4ft x 4ft x 5ft powder oven. I insulated with safe and sound then covered it with metal roofing. I used the glass from an old kitchen oven with oven bulbs. Again Thankyou Sir. God bless.

Thanks for the great video, I'm following along with something similar and have a very difficult time finding the right brass fittings to connect the brass adjuster to the solenoid. Do you know what size brass fittings you used? Thanks!

It has been a wile but I will check. I think they were 3/8” fittings but I will check and get back to you.

With the type heater your using, unlike an electric element that heats static air within the unit, your forcing tons of air into a sealed box so of course, you have to let an equal amount of air OUT of the box. lol Instead of just venting the box, run an insulated dryer hose out of the box and back into the air intake for the heater. This way, your allowing the heater to still pick up fresh oxygen to burn but at the same time, your recirculating pre heated air rather than wasting all that energy into the room. The trick is to not completely block the intake or it won't get the fresh air for the burn.

I’d probably just connect heater to the cabinet, add a view port and a bbq thermometer 😂 screw all the extra

What gas solenoid valve did you use and where’d you get it ?

The one I used in this vid actually fails on me. So I switched to this one. www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B01GL5P304?ref=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_image works much better then the last one. But now needed a 12v adapter. But works well.

@@letkemanfabworks619 I’ve been running into the issue of after the oven has been heated up for a while and it starts kicking on and off to maintain temp it will randomly not light , have you had this problem? I replace the igniter so I’m thinking it might me the ignition module chip assembly

@@dakotagarst9018 I did have a non infighting issue once or twice but it turned out my spark plug was not close enough to steel to make the spark. I guess I moved something around wile messing with the heater. But once I made sure it was close enough to make spark have not had this issue sense.
