Using a glue gun (like the candle dripping) would be great. Or, maybe using the crayon method in a cheap glue gun.

Not to the end yet but you could put watery paint or dye on a coffee filter to cover the top of can as your jam color along with the cheesecloth... idk lol

Why can't you cut a piece of cardboard to fit and seal it off that way so you wouldn't have to put it upside down
