Here's a new and improved (and not sponsored) version of my honey & turmeric face mask for rosacea. 💛 I hope you love it, too!
1 tsp raw local honey
1/4 tsp extra virgin olive oil
1/4 tsp ground turmeric
Mix, apply and relax for 15-30 minutes. Rinse and you're done. Everything this mask touches (other than your skin) will be dyed yellow/orange. Wear an old shirt & wash it away with an old soft cloth.

I have truly tried everything and my rosacea is very similar to yours maybe a little worse and this morning I was eating blueberries and kefir ... before I recycled the kefir tub I thought what the hell and scooped out the tiny bit remaining and smeared it on my face and when I went to the bathroom at lunchtime I looked in the mirror I almost fell to the floor ... completely gone completely disappeared and I mean completely ... I am blown away ... gobsmacked ! give it a go and let me know if it works for you ... and good luck ! it has been on my face for ten hours now and I will not be having a shower before I hit the sack ... I hope it works for you too !

Thank you! Can't wait to try this. I already have the honey, which I put straight on my face once lol. Good to know this about the turmeric. I have been battling with rosacea for years and have had no luck so far with calming it. Literally every time I try something new, it clears for about a week and comes back. The only thing that's been long lasting is when my dermatologist put me on antibiotics for a month and we all know we can't live on antibiotics. I'm looking for a second opinion, but hoping that your channel and others will help me until then!!

Wow, thank you! I hope you learn some great things from my channel and others, too. There really is only so much doctors can do at the moment until more research is done. I'm hopeful that some meaningful discoveries will be made soon. After all, there are millions of us and we're waiting for good news! Until then, I hope adding turmeric to your honey will make even more of a difference 😊

Rosy JulieBC so funny story. I picked up the turmeric and tried the mask today. Not only did it separate, it was dripping off of my face and my face is slightly orange. I was shocked since I'm a couple of shades darker than you. My 20yr old daughter has been laughing at me all night. 😂😂

Oh no!!! Yikes! LOL 😳 Out of curiosity, did you add a touch of olive oil to it as well (as per the recipe in the video description)? The olive oil is what stops my face from staining. I've definitely had the mask melt if I was too hot and if I applied too much, but I've never had it do that. I'm sorry to hear that...glad it gave your daughter some entertainment...😂

Rosy JulieBC I didn't rewatch the video, but I did get the measure from the description. As far as the melting and dripping, it could be environmental. I live in the New Orleans area and it's pretty humid here. Not sure how it is where you live, but that may have something to do with it? Plus my skin is very oily with the exception of the flakes from the rosacea. I'm going to try it with Greek yogurt next time. Someone in the group you referred me to mentioned it. Everywhere and everyone is different. Trial and era I guess. Lol

Hmm, you're right. Maybe the humidity in your area played a role in making the mask act weird. It's funny, I was going to recommend trying turmeric with Greek yogurt, but you replied first!!! I saw that post in the Facebook group, too (with the minion pic LOL). The comments from the Greek yogurt post recommend that you don't let it dry out or it will only make your face red again. I plan to try it out in a future video. My recent experience with Greek yogurt on its own has been positive. I hope you'll let me know if you have luck with it!

I've tried this before using raw honey. It's great! Very soothing, though it is a tad difficult to wash off. Lol. Also, I wanted to throw this out there: I purchased the SmarterLights Pure Red light (the same one you use, Julie) about 2 months ago, and my God, I have been seeing AMAZING results. I would urge everyone with rosacea to at least give red light therapy a try. If it doesn't work, there's a 90 day return policy with SmarterLights, so there isn't really any risk. Nobody is paying me to say this, FYI. I was at my wits end with the state of my rosacea and RLT has helped immensely in getting me to where I want to be. I had a mishap with Mirvaso (I mean, DISASTER) and I think I may make a video of my own where I talk about what happened to me and how RLT has helped. Thanks so much for all you do, Julie. You're awesome!

Oh my goodness that's wonderful news!!!😊😊😊 I'm very, very happy to hear that you've done so well with the light therapy. My eyes just filled with tears, that's how happy I am for you. Thank you so much for sharing your success with me, Katherine Ann. You just made my whole weekend. If you do ever make that video, I hope you'll let me know because I'd love to see it. ((HUG)) 💚

Tried a raw manuka honey mask last night on a whim and woke up this morning with less redness. A little bit of google research explained why it helped and also suggested your video. Excited to give the tumeric a go, I'm hopeful since the honey alone was so effective!

I hope it worked 🍀 (sorry it took me so long to reply. I was away for a month but I'm back now). Glad to hear the honey on its own was already helpful. Amazing how something simple can sometimes make all the difference!

Thanks for the video, the point about raw (and preferably local) honey is a good one :) . I have bin experimenting with a similar thing but to avoid oils i use plane, organic yogurt and I also have finely ground oatmeal in my mix. Honey, turmeric, oatmeal and little yogurt to get it together, and the yogurt is nice and cool on the skin. I have only used it 4 times (2 times a week) but I do like the results so far. Do you have any experience with using yogurt and/or oatmeal?
@rosyjuliebc
@rosyjuliebc 7 жыл бұрын
Thank you for sharing! 😊 I like to add the oils to this particular mask because they moisturize (my skin is very, very dry) but also because they help to stop the turmeric from staining my face. I've experimented with versions of this mask using less oil or no oil but it leaves my face slightly yellow/orange. I have had success with using oatmeal in other masks. There's one that I like with plain Greek style yogurt, cucumber and seabuckthorn tea that I find very cooling when my face feels like it's burning. If I put turmeric in it, though, I turn colours. It could be because my skin is so dry and absorbs everything, and I'm very pale, too. I haven't had any luck with oatmeal so far. I know that it is supposed to be very soothing and I like using it on my body in baths or in moisturizers, but on my face, I can't seem to get it fine enough that it doesn't cause irritation. It's not the ingredient but the texture that does it. I have tried grinding it to a dust in my blender and have purchased colloidal oatmeal packets that are so fine that it's hard to stop them from just puffing into the air, but my face still protests because the oatmeal is a tiny bit gritty in a mask. I'm very glad that you've found one that is working for you, though. That's wonderful. I definitely plan to keep experimenting. It's worth it!

I have basically combined your two masks into one :D It is so interesting and fascinating how we all respond differently to different things :) my face does for example not get stained by the turmeric, but then again I did not start using this blend until I had got a little balance on the dryness of my skin. About three weeks ago my face was like a sandpaper :/ but daily routine with Bio-therm Aquasoruce product and I am much better. But I am wondering, sins it seams to be just the grainy texture of the oats that irritate your skin, perhaps you could try to dab oat "milk" on? then you should get all the goodness without the roughness. you can make the milk at home by just blending oats and water and then strain the oats away with a goth, then you can let it sit for a while to let the smallest particles sink to the bottom. And experimenting is differently the way to go :)

how interesting about the Kefir :) Just be aware that if you ground your oats at home, you might not get them extremely fine and the texture of the mask will be a bit like an yellow oatmeal :D not very appetizing on the face but has the wonderful aroma of turmeric and honey, tastes not to bad, works good but does not look as flattering as the golden shine that Rosy JulieBC makes :)

Good idea about the "oat milk". I'll give it a try. In fact, I make steel cut oats for breakfast sometimes. I'll just add a bit too much water next time and scoop some of the water out out as I boil it. I'll put that aside for skin care tests and combinations and see how it goes. We scientists have to work together 😉

I've never tried kefir on my face. This summer, I really need to try making homemade Kefir. I've been told it's amazing by dozens of people but it makes me nervous for some reason. I'll get past it and get brewing 😂

Your hair looks cute like that! What exactly does that mask do for your skin?
@rosyjuliebc
@rosyjuliebc 7 жыл бұрын
Aww, thank you! 💚 That's my "keep my hair the heck out of the way" hairstyle 👧 This mask seems to soothe and calm my skin. I can see a difference in the redness for about 1-2 days after using this (after my face calms down from having been touched/washed, of course haha). It takes down inflammation and moisturizes it. Honey has natural antimicrobial properties, too, so I'm under the impression that it may help to kill off some nasties that may be trying to take up residence (how's that for a medical-sounding statement? 😂). I tend to do this mask about once a week as a part of a healthy skin maintenance routine. That said, when my skin is slightly reactive or hot, I may do it twice per week. I know some people who do it daily, but I'm too lazy for that. I already do my light therapy every day and keep up a careful skin cleansing and moisturizing routine, so I don't have too much more time to dedicate to the effort. I feel this is a good natural complement to the light therapy and other efforts I'm making. Like the cherry on top!

Hi everybody. Is sulfur soap too harsh for a rosacean skin as a cleanser? Thanks and God bless.
@rosyjuliebc
@rosyjuliebc 7 жыл бұрын
Good question! I haven't tried sulfur soap, but I know that sulfur is a common ingredient in many over-the-counter rosacea products (The National Rosacea Society even mentions it in its medications FAQ www.rosacea.org/patients/faq.php#medications ). That said, soap isn't the same as a cream or lotion. I hope someone else will comment, too, if they have any thoughts or if they've tried sulfur soap 😊 I'd love to know the answer!

Rosy JulieBC, Thnx for your advices. Having watched two of your vids (one of 2016 and this one), I can't see any improvement of your skin. I don't mean any offence at all, but your 2017 face still looks rather red and shiny, just like mine :-((, with the difference that my nose looks like a purple morel, which is not the case for you. In my opinion, Turmeric is helpless to people suffering from rosacea.

Hello Christian Decroze! Thank you for watching a couple of my videos. I'm not sure which ones you saw, but while I'm making great progress in controlling my symptoms, I definitely still have the condition. I have my good days, my very good days, and my bad days, and some of the redness is permanent. It never goes away even when my skin is at its best. Since there is no rosacea cure, I'm learning to cope with that. That's the point of my videos. I don't pretend to have all the answers. I'm just sharing my journey to finding what works for me. I'm sorry to hear you're going through this, too and that you have the condition on your nose as well. While turmeric is quite helpful in soothing my skin in a mask, this ingredient - like all ingredients - will work for some of us, but all of us. There isn't a single thing out there that will work for all rosacea patients. That's why we all need to find out about our own unique version of the condition and find out what works best for us, even if it's not the same as what works for someone else. It's frustrating at times, but I find that when we share our discoveries with each other in a positive way, it can be very helpful. I wish you all the best in finding what works for you. I hope you find it soon.

Hi Rosy JulieBC, Thnx a lot for your kind answer :-) There was nothing against you in my comment, by the contrary. I really appreciate people like you who share their experiences to try and help others I just wanted to point out that there is seemingly nothing to do against this f#%"*ing Rosacea. It's been spoiling my life for over three years, as it apparently did for you :-(( I tried cider vinegar, rice water ans a lot of Turmeric masks. Soolantra soothed me a bit as long as I applied it. I eventually think that Rosacea is sometimes the price to pay for being part of light-skinned and light-eyed population :-(( I really hope that your vids will help many people.

Hello again, Christian Decroze, I took no offense to your first statement. I understood it to be your take on your experience with rosacea, not a criticism of mine. That's why I replied with positivity, too. This is a tough condition. , mentally and physically. We all have our own version of the condition and different things work for us all. I can only hope that we all find what works for us. Rosacea can affect anyone, no matter how we look or where we come from. We're all in this together, so all our support for each other goes a long way. Thank you for your well-wishes for us all, too. Take care 😊
