They are pretty much out of good ideas. At this point it's 70% useless stuff that everyone already knows will/will not work and no one will ever want to do and 30% useful info that actually befits the name "tech tips" It's basically always the same with youtube channels. At the beginning its quality content where you can see they care about giving you actual content. Then when they get more popular, quantity increases, video quality increases but the actual content decreases. I mean just take this video as example. I could have told you this would theoretically work. I could have even told you removing the monitor would be a bitch, when he took out the velcro I already knew he'd probably be removing both parts in one separating the adhesive part, the broken monitor was just a bonus (velcro is only easily removed perpendicular to the surface one point at a time, peeling it off, simple physics). I can also tell you this setup even if you don't remove the monitors would probably fall apart in a few days. The adhesive will not withstand this amount of shear stress for long. The material will "creep" considerably (look that up). Simplest way for this video to actually contain content would have been the 3D printed attachment accessory. They could have shared the stl file of it in the description, making this video useful for anyone who would genuinely want to try this. But they put most of their work into editing instead of shooting actual content. Basically it turned from an information channel into a sensationalist entertainment centered channel. Time to look for new alternatives. @Linus: look at the WAN show table and remember where you came from.

Only thing that sucked was the resolution of the two extra monitors looked like 1080p, which I assume would make gaming a nightmare if possible at all. Would have to get 4k monitors to match the blades native resolution. Also would have to take refresh rate of the two monitors into account if you tried to use it for gaming.

1. Not modular, as removing the screens and re-adding them is cumbersome, and as Linus accidentally did, can break them. Valeries just slide inside of the laptop enclosure itself so you can fold it like a normal laptop 2. Using more than 3 portable screens would be horrible, not to mention, Razer's Project Valerie would allow you to plug more, meaning it could actually use more than this as its plugs wouldn't be occupied due to the screens being built in. 3. How do you know? Valerie doesn't exist yet, so there's no pricing info out there. To game on a laptop with multiple screens as it is would cost you a pretty penny. That's discounting that these screens (And most you can buy on the market) would not line up properly in regards to color calibration, size, and response time, making them unfit for a eyefinity gaming setup on the go. It's nauseating when your screens don't respond at the same time. 4. True, but that comes with the problems I've listed. If you dont try to retrofit the screens on, you'll be better off, but then its less portable than valerie by default. I respect your opinion, but overall, Valerie's concept is definitely better by far.

honestly, a setup like this would be nice for people who only have a laptop and no desktop. you could have the side panels setup on a desk, powered by a wall outlet, then you just set the laptop between them and attached the hdmi cables.

Honestly with what you found, this would actually be a really good choice of materials to do a good solution. Those brackets could be modified or replaced to mount up to some sort of snap or slide lock system. Assuming those brackets are metal, heat them up with a bottle torch and pound out a slot to make a slide lock similar to what we use on kitchen tables. Probably need that 3D printer to make a bracket for the laptop though. Love seeing projects like this for how much they fire me up towards fabricating an actual solution. Just sucks not having the financial means to try any of it. Or the tools anymore, I deeply miss having table saws, band saws, lathes, torches, welders, anvils, blacksmith hammers and all the other tools I grew up learning to use.

@11:42 the lcd flex is real lol... i know this is just a quick gag/mock up but seriously, you could have spent a few more hours making this really nice. design a bracket (powder coated aluminum with pads or something to avoid scratches) that slips over the razor's screen bezels, hacking & modding the lcds and soldering from the boards to make the cabling seemless, fill in the blanks.. still though, good vid hahaha! i wonder how many vids of ppl will actually do this properly now. peace!
