The dress looks amazing on you! I think the fit of the back and the sleeves turned out great. I also appreciate that you use 3D design software to draft and test your patterns. I haven’t used it personally, but I previously worked in fashion retail technology and learned a lot about CLO in the process. It’s such a cool program. I’ve learned so much about pattern-making from your videos! Thank you for sharing. 😄

You are so sweet! Thank you for letting me know ❤️ And yes! Even though I still don't know how to use all of CLO yet, the possibility of trying the pattern out is so helpful!

The Minerva pattern drafting videos have helped me tremendously with small amounts of gaping. I had no idea that some changes required a set amount to be removed to combat that. TFS! Love it and your channel ❣️💙

I loved this dress the first time a saw this silhouette. I really like your version and you explain everything so well! Sadly I don't think I have too much time to attempt this for myself (still some sewing projects laying around and should maybe finish those first), but I like that I know you have a tutorial so if I want in the future I know how to find it! I still have the idea in my mind to use a front bodice style that is more corset like with a square neckline (but with the sort of hart shape at the waist like the juliana dress) have a similar skirt as the juliana dress and than at the back have a more open back design, but instead of only buttons on the top and the bottom do multiple buttons along the straight edge. Oh and straps that have a front and back piece and then are tied on the shoulder. I might be even more tempted now to frankenstein it a bit with this tutorial and the juliana dress, and then try a square neckline for the bodice 🤔 Now on to find time and plan it in for the future🤔

Thank you for explaining your pattern! I'm going to try to hack your dress back onto my Sew Over It 'Giselle' dress pattern, as the rest of the dress is very similar! 🤞

Such a cute tutorial-your Sew Talented at pattern drafting 😍… I found New Look #N6696 which is pretty much the reformation dress 🤯a few months ago & have been making versions out of Jersey knit this summer. But I still enjoyed watching you figure out the design & praying 🙏 you put yours out in New extended size range. 🎉

I like to have some underarm space and also think a dress with that kind of elastic back can be nice longterm for weight fluctuations if the elastic lasts that long that is.
@coralinestreet7 ай бұрын
Yes, that's true! The elasticated back makes it super comfortable

The first one I saw was from Aritzia. I really wanted it but they didn't ship to my country and it was too expensive. So I had it made by a seamstress and it's absolutely beautiful :)

What if I want to make the back just closed and fitted? Do I use the basic bodice pattern for my measurements?

Lovely dress, wouldn't look good on some of us but I'd definitely shorten it and shorten the big slit at the front. I'm 63 and don't want to look like mutton dressed as lamb. You do great tutorials

I'd say the Easy Summer Shorts pattern! However, I have received reviews of lots of people who made the Aimee as their first dress and were able to make it just fine!
